Another arcane question:
Anyone know of any German magicians who took part in the Wiederstand--the internal resistance to the Nazi Regime? (I can think of one member who might have a clue, if there are indeed any clues.) Thanks! gary |

That's not Wiederstand. It's Widerstand. The words sound almost the same. Wiederstand means "restart." "Wieder" means again. "Wider" means against or repelled by.
I know one German magician who lives in the US now whose father was a police officer in a major German city. They were Jewish, but didn't look it. They smuggled a lot of people out of Germany. Since I don't have his permission to release it here on the forum, I can't say any more. Although Punx was not part of the Widerstand, he spent the last year or so of his military service as a sergeant in the English army. This is detailed in Once Upon a Time.

So much for the mystery of the one member who would have a clue!
Also the one member who would be quick to catch (and rightfully correct) my mispelling of Widerstand, something I realized when I didn't have access to the computer. Will check out the leads, Bill. Thanks as always! gary |
