I'm glad that The Amateur Magician's hand book was mentioned. It is must have for over all magic as well. It was one of My early books That I first had as a paper back book. Wore that out after many years of use. My ex wife's grand parents one year from Christmas gave me a hard bound A.M.H not knowing My feelings for that book at all. That was one of My favorite gifts from that year.

I just purchased David Neighbors 'Las Vegas lecture notes'. A booklet more than a book but full of great sleights and some really nice routines. Mostly using some of the standard gaffs. Really great stuff.
Kind regards Sean |

My website is currently down as I am upgrading the whole thing. It was a dinosaur that needed some improvements. Have a guy working on it now and hopefully will be back up in 2 to 4 weeks. (Thanks for the plug dsalley13!)
Great news, Mike R! Should be fun to see all your material in one place. Mike G. - I never really thought about it but it is incredible that you or your dad's material is not in CoinMagic. |

Interesting to see the comparison between the Roth book and Coinmagic. About a quarter of Coinmagic is Roth material, and a majority of the rest are from people who were inspired by David. Roth's book has so much material, its almost unbelievable. And that book came out so long ago, imagine the amount of material he still has left to publish!!. Coinmagic has no Okito routines, and there is a whole section on the Okito box in the Roth book, for those who like to play with it. Both are great books, and you can't be a true coin magician without having looked through either of them.
As for Okito routines, I also highly reccomend the Brewer book - its full of fresh, useful, and WORKABLE routines - stuff he uses in real life. And although there is no book out, Gallo has so many darn Okito routines on the New York Coin Magic seminar DVD's, he can probably write his own book on the Okito box!

If there is a current printing available I can't find it unfortunately. Is it available only from the publisher perhaps? And do you happen to know who published the latest printing? My used copy is listed in "Used-Like New" condition so I should be OK when it arrives. I also purchased Bobo's Large Revised Hardback from the same seller and it is in excellent condition. Thank you. My used copy of The Amateur Magician's Handbook arrived today and it is in about as perfect condition as it could possibly be! Amazingly fine condition with its dust cover completely intact and it even included a 15 page booklet "Spectacular Magic Hat Full of Tricks" by Marshall Brodien that came with the book originally. And at a price that rivals current mass market paperbacks! ( < $15 incl. shipping!)
I'll be busy reading for the next few hours... Jim |

Hi everyone!
I'm surprised no one has mentioned, "21st Century Coin Mechanics", by Larry Barnowski. That's the newest coin book I own. Here is the decription from the website: 21st Century Coin Mechanics is a book explaining some of the latest original advancements in sleight of hand with coins. 25 chapters and over 300 crisp black and white photos teach you in detail how to learn and perform these sleights and routines. I spared no expense in working with the best printer I could find. The book is 8 1/2 x 11 inches, #80 Glossy Enamel Stock, Smyth Case Bound, Gold Stamped Cloth Cover, and Four Color Dust Jacket. This will be a beautiful addition to your library. There are 13 original sleights and numerous others moves taught. 11 routines, complete with the exact script that I use when performing, are described in step by step detail. All of the effects except one are done stand up and all are done with silver dollar coins. You can use smaller coins of course. Most of the effects use no coin gaffs...(snip)...If you're familiar with basic coin magic, and are ready to take that next step to acquire skills that will bring you to the cutting edge of sleight of hand, then 21st Century Coin Mechanics is what you've been waiting for. This is the best coin book I have. Well worth it! You can get it here: http://www.barnowskymagic.com Hope this helps! Doug |

Thanks Doug for the plug. The book is in it's second printing. I still have a few of the first edition for those collectors who want one. The book has been sold all over the world and at last count to 40 countries. I include an antique silver dollar size real Chinese coin (no hole) with each book and video CD. It's perfect for practicing those retention vanishes taught in the book including the URV. You can get the book/video CD directly from me (see link below) or from my sole distributor, Stevens Magic Emporium (but you won't get the FREE coin from them).

Have to agree here, it's a great book with a refreshingly new view of coins and magic from a real thinker. Proud to have 21ST CENTURY COIN MECHANICS on my magic shelf...It's just what the doctor ordered.
