Hay ho,
Just a few days left before the School of Busking starts I am very excited. We are already in Cambridge paving the way and seeing to the finer details. Students arrive on Friday morning. I trust when new students post on the Magic Café that you give them a warm welcome. Perhaps extend to them a warm buskers community welcome. This is a brave step for the students most of which have never busked once in their lives. Students of last year where somehow over looked on the Magic Café despite their huge acheivements. Most of the students went on to busking through out the year. Some plunging them selfs into full time entertainment. Credit should be giving to all students, one Student how came on the School came alone last year. He too never had busked before. After the course he busked for the whole year, first performing short 5min show's which he grew over the summer into a 30min show. At the beginning of this year he went and braved Covent Garden and now secured a years contract working in the House of Illusion in Spain, he is now their in the Sun performing. I am sure if we give students a warm welcome on the Magic Café and other forums they will share their own stories from which we can all learn. As for me I cant wait to meet this years crew and some of last years students that are returning. All the Best Mario |

I attended the school of busking last year as I thought it would be a good way to get myself ready for the season after not working for nine months. I found that not only was it a great way to rekindle my enthusiasm, but despite my eight years of experience there were still things I learned from Mario and Gazzo's teaching. This year Mario has given me the honor of asking me to present my lecture on Hit And Run magic. If anyone is interested in learning how to do street magic, or simply wants to reignite their passion for it - they are sure to have a fantastic time.

The school opened up a lot of new opportunities for me. So much so that I'm back again this year, and looking forward to it. If it's half as good as last year, it'll be GREAT!
Entertaining in the street for cash requires a different set of skills from other areas of magic, and these skills really help all other areas of performing magic, or even pitching. Can't believe there are so many people out there passing up the chance to attend - can't think where else you'd get so much GREAT info in such a short time. Intensive - sure - but - GREAT! DCB

Go on tell us a story.
The doors to apply for the School are closed, we have long time booked accomerdation and so on. I just like to see students share their experiences and storys of busking, the good, bad the ugly. I have herd them in part if not in whole, but their not mine to share. We asked last year students to send us stories feed back to us to share with this years crew. So folk of the green room if your nice they may share them with you. Mario |
