I recently recieved some money to spend on some gimmicks (about $50). My problem is this: I don't know what kind of gimmick to get. I've seen things like the Nestorizer and others, however I'm looking for a certain one. I need a gimmick that can be used for more than one trick and can be interesting everytime. I could spend all my mone on one good one, or a little on multiple ones. please post a list and prices, it would be most helpful! Once again, I'm looking for the gimmick that every magician would use

Have a topit fitted in your jacket. It's never cost me more than $50.

I like how topit looks, but then I saw TKO and I was wondering if it would be better worth my money

I'm not sure but I think TKO costs more than $50. Anyway, if you live in a climate appropriate for a jacket, I think an ordinary top is better, just because there's so much more you can do. I have the TKO as well, and I think it's great, just not as versatile as the ordinary topit. |

Kk, thanks for the responses and I suppose I hav. Some questions to answer. First to Boydy I am mostly a card magician who is still in recovery from a stage act . Vanishes are pretty cool and I like how many effects one can do win a topit. And lemonJay I live in a place where it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter so I suppose both would work. I'm really liking how this topit works but I'm trying to find how to make one by hand.

David Penn has a Topit DVD that comes with an installable topit, and it is within your budget. I don't have it, but it looks good. I recommend the Bob Fitch DVDs for the topit as there are better card effects there in my opinion than in Ammar's DVDs if I remember correctly, though both are great. Don't really recommend trying to make a TKO, maybe you could pick one up second hand.

Lots of fancy stitchery and engineering went into the TKO.
It would be easier to buy it.

I was talking about the topit as for a DIY. The TKO I just might buy because I like how it is significantly designed for the impromtu magician

Is the TKO noisy? Does it require wardrobe alterations or special clothes?

The TKO makes no noise unless you're vanishing something heavy, and even then only very minimally, and won't be noticed by a spectator. TKO only requires clothing that is easily found and commonly worn (No sleeves required). Minimal stitching is required, but as long as you can sew one button you're fine. It can easily be modified to fit multiple shirts, and everything is included in the DVD that comes with the device.

What type of magic do you like to do? This will help us give you some good suggestions. The items listed above are all terrific.
