I was going through my books and such and came across this booklet that I must have gotten off EBay in the early 2000s. Does anyone else have it and have any thoughts on it? |

Who published this book? Any address inside book cover? Sounds like a good read.

Rod,
I think it must have been self published. I googled the author to see if I could find moe about him but no luck. The basic premise of the book is: Make several tricks, that it tells you how to make in the book, like two card monte, get a stand, and set yourself up at flea markets selling the magic you made. While it was interesting, I think there was a lot more usable information in Don's dvds. |

I think its a waist of time to make magic to sell.A flashy package is what puts value on something you are selling to the plubic.

Whatever is in this book, it doesn't sound like "the real work" on pitching magic.
You certainly can make up your own TCM sets, but only as giveaway kickers in order to sell something else (Svengali Decks). I can't imagine pitching TCM's by themselves, although I guess anything is possible. For that matter, you can even make your own Svengali Decks if you want to, but Loftus does a much better job and with a lot less effort. Most pitchmen are businessmen and buy their stock, they don't make it. If you want to be a crafter and sell "handmade" Svengali Decks, sign up for the craft shows! SETH

I'll try to dig the book out and give a better rundown of it.
But you are right, it really isn't much of pitching as more or selling tricks at a flea market book. I just used the TCM as an example that all here would know, but if memory serves me right the author claimed he invented most of the tricks the book buyer was suppose to make ,and it was several tricks together that was being sold, no individual tricks. Hope this helps. Kim |
