I voted because I always support new musicians, and I will take your word that they are good, because I know that you love music as passionately as I do, but to tour with KISS is really scraping the bottom of the barrel. KISS was over the hill 20 years ago, and they sucked when they were selling out the big rooms.

Whether you like KISS or not, it's a great opportunity for the band to get recognition. That's what it's about.

I voted for them, and I wish them the best. What sort of venues does KISS play in these days? I would guess that they could still fill up a small theater with their gereatric fans.

I recently saw James Taylor, and Carol King perform together at a hockey arena, and the whole audience had grey hair.

Bill,
I'm a huge music lover myself and always on the lookout for bands I haven't heard of. Thanks for sharing. I thought they sounded pretty good so I voted for them. Best of luck to them, that is a GREAT opportunity for exposure.

Al,
Music is subjective. Just because you don't like KISS (or any band) doesn't mean they suck. Personally I'm only a fan of their older stuff. KISS generally play at venues with a capacity of 15,000-20,000 these days. I don't plan on going, but if I was, at 42 I'm far from geriatric.

I saw JT in '94, still one of my favorite concerts.

Best Regards,
George

I am a life long music adict, and there are lots of bands that I like both old and new, but KISS is not one of them. I do not like rock classics radio where you hear the same songs over, and over, and over again. lI have advance tickets to see two great bands this Summer, but I doubt if you have ever heard of either one of them. Surely we can disagree, and still be friends.

Of course we can disagree and still be friends. I can definitely understand someone personally not liking a band. There are tons I don't care for. Doesn't mean they suck, after all other people enjoy them, it just means they aren't for me.

I'm the same way about the radio, I rarely listen to it as I have a fairly large music collection that is continually growing.

Who are you going to see this summer? Maybe I have heard of them. I have plans so far to see BB King with Buddy Guy, Chris Duarte, The Black Crowes, Tab Benoit, plus two blues festivals.

How was the James Taylor/Carole King concert? JT was great when I saw him in '94, does he still have it? I'm considering going to see them this weekend, but it's a 3 hour drive and I have a commitment the next morning.

I have tickets to see Raul Malo in July, and Paul Thorn in August. I doubt if anyone here has ever heard of either one of them. They are performing in a small music theater near my house. There will be about 250 at each concert.

When JT and Carol King played in Philly they performed two nights for 22,000 people each night.

There is a big differance between a heritage musician, and an over the hill musician, but I'll let you be the judge of that.
