The Theatre Magic Fire Wallet is the only way to go. I don't use mine as a regular wallet because my regular wallet takes a beating. It does however sit in the side pocket of my suit or sports jacket. The reactions are always fantastic. I use it regularly in my stage acts as an opener. It is a definite attention getter.

I've had my Theatre Fire Wallet for almost two years. I carry it as an everyday wallet, in my backpocket. I sit on it, drop it,walk with it in the rain. It has pretty much taken all the abuse I can give it. It still works perfectly. By now, every part of the gimmick is bent, scraped and burnt, and it still works every time. I've filled it and used it for two days straight without refill. It is great.
The only reason I stopped using it was simply because I do a lot of magic for kid and youth audiences, and after using the wallet once they never wanted to see anything else. It was too strong. - Ffojt |

Ok, let me be the one to ask the obvious question..
Isn't this REALLY unsafe? How do you store the wallet? How can you be sure that it doesn't light up in your pocket? Sounds too dangerous to me. |

When your wallet is closed you cant turn the flint wheel nor can air get to the pad that has the fluid. I doubt that anyone has had their wallet go up spontaneously. I am speaking of Theater Magic wallets.

I have a fire wallet, but I got it from m local magic shop so I don't know what brand it is. I have had problems with the pad drying out, then it does not ignite. Are the mechanisms different from wallet to wallet?
Reality is a real killjoy.

The concept of both fire wallet is the same. I love my Fire wallet 2.0 because the quality is much better for around the same price. Fire wallet has better quality all around, spring gimmick that allows you to put out the fire without closing the wallet (which isn't a huge deal for me), and it does not dry out as quickly as my kaps did. I do prefer my kaps for CTW effect because it has a zipper. And the down side to theater magic fire wallet is that they need better quality control. I received my wallet with the gimmick installed rotated 180 degrees. And I have seen other complaints in regard to this fire wallet 2.0 |

One of the improvements I like is that they made the mechanism ALL black.
The first version was gold and it was obvious that there was something in the wallet when viewed from a certain angle. I found myself always trying to hide the gold part.

You can buy "low-odor " lighter fluid.
It doesn't smell as much.
