Can someone please point me to some reference material (book or DVD is fine but preferrably book) that shows a satisfactory method to add a card from gambler's cop to a small packet of cards sitting on a table. Ideally, the add-on would happen during the act of picking up the cards. A one-handed add on and pickup is preferrable. Obviously, the performer is seated.
I have fooled around with this for a while now and while I have a few usable ideas I'm not particularly thrilled with what I've come up with. I'm sure greater minds than myself have already solved this problem so any help pointing me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

Presumably, if it's a one-handed add-on, then the hand has to do double-duty in both depositing the card secretly while acquiring the packet openly. I can see a smooth one-handed addition from a magician's palm, a gambler's flat palm, or even something like a Tenkai or Lateral Palm, but not so much with a cop, with the orientation of the hand being what it is. For what it's worth, though, a two-handed addition into the cop can still look pretty good. Also, if you're working seated, then you might have some flexibility as to the palm you get into.

Andrew I fear you are right about this. The lateral palm is an excellent idea though. It is a better palm than a cop from a seated position. The only downside is the amount of time it will take to get it down smoothly. Thanks.

You might investigate the Vernon Add-On as a substitute.
