I just got this in my email from the mailing list of BBM:

Ollie Mealing has a passion for playing cards that knows no bounds. And his incredible enthusiasm will benefit YOU! Plus the preorder offers the dvd for the Elegy Shift which also looks curious. What are your thoughts?

This looks very cool indeed. Seems like a wicked collection of sexy moves to be mixed in with our own working effects. I love new takes on classic moves and this is on my must get list!

I was there for the shoot. Was even Ollie's assistant for a few tricks and sat in on the explanations. AWESOME stuff! Cool moves and very cool tricks! And nothing that most intermediate card guys won't be able to pick up. The Barrier Shift is great and, I think, pretty darn easy.

The seesaw peak is presumably the move as seen in 'The Session 2007' and used in Lee Smith's 'Walkaround 2 cards to pocket'.
For that reason alone, I am very interested. Charlie |

I was absolutely nailed by the Clay Shift color change. The Barrier Shift looked it had some weird wrist movements going on, though. I've asked Mr. Packard about preordering the DVD with Elegy Shift but to ship it on a late date. That guy is super cool ("of course dude, no probs!" was his response - loved it!), and for that reason I'll place my order after this weekend. Gotta support great customer service.
Anyone know anything about the Elegy Shift? That also looks pretty cool.

I fried a lot of guys at Blackpool with the Elegy Shift last year. Let me tell you something, if I can do this move anyone can do it! I'm not exactly the world's best card handler so I stick with non-knuckle busting stuff. This isn't knuckle busting but looks awesome. If you ever wanted to do a Ray's Rise kind of effect without losing three fingers in the process, then the Elegy Shift is for you!
BTW, the movement of the Barrier Shift actually does makes sense. You're looking at the bottom of the deck and then revolving it up so the specks can take a look as well. It's a nice shift and easy to do.

I like this " If you ever wanted to do a Ray's Rise kind of effect without losing three fingers in the process, then the Elegy Shift is for you!"
I almost lose all my left hand fingers!!! I got The Session 2007 DVD. Ollie teachs us some of his pet routines(Some was showed is the video). I think his teaching is clear and direct. http://www.alakazam.co.uk/product-Killer-Combo-Deal.html is selling a bundle which included the session 2007. You may like to check this out. |

Just preordered, very excited! Both Elegy shift and these new sleights in CC should serve me well in my endeavors.
