I caught Steve Cohen's chamber magic show this Saturday at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NYC. It was a wonderful show in an intimate and exquisite setting. Steve did some excellent card work, mentalism and a few tricks I'd never heard of. One of the more captivating trick called "think a drink" involved him pouring drinks written by the audience members on cards from a single tea pot. At one point, one of the selected drinks was lemonade. He asked the woman sitting next to me if she's like pink or yellow. She said pink and that's what she got. Another man's selection was red wine. Steve asked for a specific type and the man chose an obscure red, that is sweet. That's what he got. Another very good trick involved him placing an empty hat (just inspected) on the table. He vanished a coin, joked about it turning up under the hat-instead there was a real brick.
I highly recommend this show if you are in New York City. Plan ahead because most of his performances are sold out. You also have to get dressed up--that means coat and tie for men. But despite the heat in NYC, it was worth it. Great show. Larry Lipman Lorenzo the Great! |

How many people in the audience and what was the cost of the tickets?
