You mean one-armed MacDonald as discussed in the Vernon book - or the basic card assembly using gaffs - Hofzinser?

The method for the ace assembly known as MacDonald's Aces, is the invention of Johann Nepomuk Hofzinser. Hofzinser's routine "Powers of Faith" used gaffed kings (all four of them) instead of aces. There was no leader packet. Even the one-handed vanish as described in Dai Vernon's More Inner Secrets of Card Magic goes back to Hofzinser.

Who's the guy who put down the Ace of Spades and called it the "Master Ace" in this context?
@Uli, Isn't it remarkable to have ones choice of Kings?

After a great deal of research, I have concluded that the inventor of this thing was, indeed, MacDonald. He was involved in agriculture. He lived just outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He lost his arm in an accident with a cotton picker. The cotton picker was pretty badly beat up, as well.
Mac Donald, in later years, became the president of an Oklahoma agricultural society called the Evangelical Independent Earsuckers Inside Oklahoma, known mainly by their acronym.

Bill, what specifically are you asserting that Mac Donald developed which was novel to what Hofzinser had done a century before?

Jonathan does not appreciate someone attempting humor by planting bogons while most of their audience has yet to read the actual source material in question. Jonathan saw the post and continues to wonder whether it will be cited as authoritative.
Makes me wish the farm in that book was named McDonald's Farm rather then Manor Farm.

It must be really dark in there, Jonathan.
Remember the citation in The Art of Magic about the best source of magcian's wax?

Bill, folks, this is the Magic Café, not an episode of Ren and Stimpy.
Just in case you might have forgotten, the term bogons is about the internet and is relevant to this context in the same way as it was used in Stephenson's book Anathem - specious data. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:Anonymous So, did Mac Donald use Jacks like the mythical Hofzinser? is it true we got the word 'humdinger' as indirect referent to that supposed Viennese conjurer?

I sold hundreds of Pringle Aces long before I ever heard of the Million Dollar Aces.
One of the last living 10-in-one performers. I wanted to be in show business the worst way, and that was it.
