So they will not be sold separately. I think it will be at least a year before the decks are produced. In the meantime, I'm busy researching for the Linking Ring DVDs and for my next book and also another possible project with Todd Karr. There is an interesting blurb about Joe Cossari in the product description of L&L's"The Magic of Steve Dacri - No Filler (Volume 3)" that reads:
-----quote----- http://www.llpub.com/zenshop/index.php?m......_id=2329 BONUS SECTION An episode of “Steve Dacri’s Magic Notebook,” a TV show that Steve produced and starred in. Besides Steve’s stage and close-up segments, it also features performances by Dai Vernon (used with permission from the Dai Vernon estate) and Joe Cossari, The King of Cards. -----unquote----- Can anyone comment further on this DVD and the segment in which Joe Cossari appears? ----- Sonny

In the middle of the black light phase of his act, the black light "died". The act came to a halt. Mike came out (I don't think he knew what had happened) Henry said, "The light went out." Caldwell (never at a loss for words!) came back with: "I don't do lights!"

No. But I know that if his black lights went out, it took quite some time for them to reset. It was not uncommon for Henry to yell out to the organist during the show...."play a waltz!"
I can sure hear Mike coming back to Henry that way. L.L. Henry was in the barber's union. I was told he used to cut the other act's hair to make a little money on the road. He made a very cleaver folding wooden coat hanger that worked in the old steamer trunk. But he made a bunch of money by patenting a little switch that was used by many companies on lamps in the 1950's and 1960's. Richard

Speaking of Henri...
I just posted a scan of the front and back of his brochure on the IBM Ring 103 Norfolk facebook page. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/h......25_n.jpg As the comment from Robert Hurt inside the brochure notes, Henri did "an unusual beautiful presentation in BLACK LIGHT performed by the top Artist in his field." So I guess that he, like Joe Cossari, did a black light exhibition card fans act. Neil Foster notes: "The man you have just seen is 'HENRI' and you spell his name 'T-A-L-E-N-T.'" That's quite a compliment from someone who was himself a master of exhibition card fans! The brochure is designed so that when you open it, the photo of Henri holding a fan of jumbo cards pops up at the top. I think Zina Bennett also did jumbo card fans in his act. ----- Sonny

I wondered for a moment whether this discussion of Joe Cossari and Henri should have been in the "Pasteboard Frolics" section of the Café rather than Finger/Stage Manipulation. I know Joe included some magical flourishes in his performance--such as the interlocked card production ending I think with a production of spring flowers (published in an issue of _GENII_ I think) as well as a version of the Hummer Whirlaway/Helicopter card. I know very little about Henri's act. I would imagine that most magicians who did exhibition fan flourishes included a color-changing fan and maybe the diminishing cards as well.
