Thanks, Steve, for pointing the way to that. I've watched and admired the Pendragons for a long time, but I had no idea of Charlotte's depth of character, and I had no idea the problems Jonathan has had to overcome. My heart goes out to him. They were a great act together in the past. From the sound of it now, they're going to be two great acts in the future.

Once you are famous, your life is scrutinized and every little detail of your life is studied microscopically, so to speak. I also, wish this had been kept private, but when a talent such as the Pendragons splits up, I guess we HAD to know...sadly. Doug |

Thanks Steve. Charlotte pretty much confirmed everything I had heard in a very gracious manner. She is quite the lady.

"The story was interesting, but I wish they had kept it private."
Well it will lay rest to rumors that could potentially hurt them in their new endeavors. Some of the content probably should have been left out, but I guess she felt the need to get the truth out.

Regardless of who is telling the story, there always seem to be three sides - MY side, YOUR side and, somewhere in between, lies the TRUTH. This is not to say that your side and my side can't be awfully similar, only that I will tell those details that seem important to me and ignore the others, as will you.
In Jonathan's interview, he acknowledges his faults and shortcomings and he seems genuinely sorry that it came to this. Regardless, magic has lost a truly beautiful act.

First of all, to everybody that has posted about the premiere issue of The Mandala...thank you for your kind words. I am very happy that you enjoyed it, and, more importantly, I am glad to hear that you saw the interview with Charlotte the way I had intended it to be: frank and revealing for the purpose of setting the record straight, and presenting it in a fair and compassionate way. Yes, it is always disturbing to learn the truth about people we admire, but as Banester stated, at least the story is out there and may now protect them from any further rumors that may have come their way.
Charlotte was very professional in making sure the story got told correctly. When I was interviewing her, she was always careful not to paint the picture of her being the victim. Instead, as you can read in the interview, her opinion is that Jonathan was the victim, and that it wasn't his fault. I admired that. Anyone else could have made it a "pity party." They are both starting down new roads in their performing careers, and I think that's good for them. It is VERY unfortunate, however, that the split had to happen. We will NEVER see the Metamorphosis performed to that level of perfection again. Thanks again, everyone, for your wonderful comments about The Mandala. I'm not sure, Eldon. I read that. It IS crazy to be sure. I'm waiting on further info, before I draw a conclusion. I cannot imagine Charlotte being ANYTHING but honest and a lady.
With all she's been through, and the absolutely head-spinning things that must dominate her life right now..we MAY not have the whole story. I just don't know what to think right now. I'm looking forward to my inquiries being replied to, and answered. If by any chance I find something out, I'll come back and post it. Doug |

Jonathan and Charlotte were my ideial presentation of magic. However, I love both, they make ART.
When we have our heroes separate leaves us much sadness! Falconer
