Other than the U.S the U.K. is the only country Outlaw has released effects specifically for, although they are used world wide too . |

I'd like to point out a couple of things about the Psi card addressed above.
1. As much as I try to make my items "universal" it's up to the performer to explain what the demonstration is. If the Psi card is not completely U.K. friendly, it should be easily explained that it's from the University of Birmingham in the U.S. and was sent to you. I'm sure not every book test or word test is U.K. friendly or universally friendly. 2. As far as "astute spec can scan the card and possibly see the method" Isn't that what management is all about? There are a number of wallet card effects and book tests that cannot be examined by the spec. We don't worry about it because we manage it. With Psi card I tell the spec I have a test card with 70 entries. I'd like you to think of as a book with 70 pages in it. "Think of any page number from 1 to 70. Do you have a page number in your mind? In a moment I'm going to hand you this card that is numbered 1-70 and I'd like you to look at your number and the word right next to it, and remember the word. Are you ready? You have that page number in your mind correct? I don't want to know the number just keep it in your mind. Now, heres the card please look at your page number and remember the word next to it. Got it? Good, please turn the card face down and hand it to me. In the brief moment or two they found their number and word, there is no way they have looked at all 70 words. There are also 3 designs on the card that make it a bit difficult to easily see the words. That is how I manage and present Psi card. I've seen wallet cards with a choice of only 10 words and not very examinable. Dr. Bill and I spent a lot of time developing Psi card to have the largest word selection of any wallet card. Now you gentleman are entitled to your opinions and I respect that. |

Thanks. I'll have another look at it. (If you'd like me to try to customise it for the UK, please let me know!)

I use Kioku when I really want to .. "scare" people. I tell them about me keeping this cards from a book about human memories and the alikeness of these among us, and I perform it the way it's described in the booklet. I don't have them shuffled, I simply put the cards in front of them, and then I step back. It really fries their minds, especially because they look as innocent as can be - they don't ask me if it is a trick, but simply -how- this is possible. By the way, I'm from a dutch speaking country, and they don't question the English.

I have had Kioku for more than 3 years. I still use it and it still gets great reactions.

I use Kioku for a drawing dupe. It does indeed get great reactions.
Add a little cold reading and some ambivalent shapes (a la Banachek's Psy. subtleties) and they tend to fill in the blanks.

I've had some great feedback on a stage presentation of Kioku that I've been using with corporate groups of late. Happy to share if anyone's interested in throwing around thoughts on developing a killer stage version

Love Outlaw. PSI card - got it and had the same "issues" others outlined here. Went in a drawer, had a bunch of other stuff I was working on at the time. Then I see my buddy perform it about a year later. BLOWN AWAY! Great story, great handling, huge impact. It IS all in the presentation. Now I am ashamed to use it cause I know I'll never do it as well as my buddy and we run in the same circles. It IS all about the performance.

Care to share any of the tips for psi card that your buddy used? I ask because I just didn't like any of the rises in the instructions for getting the first letter...

I can say what "makes" the effect for him - he has a GREAT story and is a GREAT storyteller. Again, all about the presentation. I actually did help him with one technical detail regarding the method, but this is still his baby and methods are insignificant IMO (so long as they work!) - there are a million methods but only one YOU . Sorry again.

I have reflections, PSI Card, Witches Almanac and Kioku. All excellent products - first class thinking behind them. I only recently started working with the Almanac and had the same experience first time I read the manual as I have with every Outlaw product - I find myself grinning widely and even making little involuntary laughs at the fiendishness of the thinking behind these excellent products. Recently I started using Kioku form the stage for large business audiences - that's the great advantage of a well-thought out product; if the thinking works in one area (close up) there's always a way to make it work in others. If anyone has taken the Almanac to the stage I'd appreciate any ideas
One warning about Outlaw: if you've no spare money DON'T visit their site: all of Rick's stuff is a kind of crack-mentalism - once you've had a taste it's impossible to resist |

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but does anybody have a copy of the instructions for Psi-Card? I've been away from magic for a few years and recently found mine w/o instructions, then went to Outlaw only to find they had vamoosed. It would appear it has been discontinued.

Send a message to Bill Cushman. Dr Bill co-developed it for Outlaw and is a member here (and a great guy).

I've misplaced my instructions for Homicide if anyone can help.
