I agree with that Daffy. The problem with it is that it does not tell us WHY we want to ESCAPE from REALITY.
There are two sides to this coin. We are always looking here at what the audience like about the world of illusion but never looking at the other side and ask what is wrong with reality that that they should want to escape it. Fear is one of the only two emotions that exist. Fear is what must be wrong with living in reality. When we look into at the way the world is in reality that is exactly what we find. A world where people are living in fear. When we look at the way the world of illusion is which is where they escape to there we find it is a world that holds no fear for them. So now we know not only that they are there for their amusement but why reality does not amuse them. Of course the 60s mob here who think nothing is real would not agree. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3jrWVp2L7U

If a person had real magic power, then they would not need to fear. The need for fear would be vanquished because having that kind of power would make one , well, shall I say it? Omnipotent. Therefore one could change any circumstances in their environment that did not please them.
Like Samantha Stevens, or Barbara Eden, a simple blink or a wink, and whammo. Problem solved forever by your magic powers. No problemo. Spouse too crabby? Tired of her griping? No problem. Just zap them away into another dimension. Bills piling up? No prob. A snap of the fingers, and Gregory Wilson's Hundy 500 is a REALITY. Life could get kind of boring, I would imagine. (If one had omnipotence.) But fear would DEFINITELY not be an issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WzMx_W8fqw

Let's see, Tommy. In the beginning I likes this thread while not agreeing with your premise or reasoning. No, despite many arguements suggesting a different view, you keep repeating the same old phrases. For a while you did change fro "fear OF life" to "fear In life" but that has apparently slipped away. SInce this is boring I no longer like this thread.
Therefore, by your reasoning I must be afraid of the confusion offered here and must instantly run to some form of vicarious entertainment. Instead of doing/studying magic as a form of relaxation and amusement (my reality), I am condemned to dash off to see anther magician perform. but wait -- you are a magician and your arguments and logic seem as illusions to me, so I don't have to be afraid of anything, and can love the fact that I can entertain myself with no external motivation at all. Great idea, Tommy! Thanks. All I have to do is pretend that everything other people do is an illusion and what I choose to do is the only reality. I love it! but am afraid you won't.

Oh, Tommy knows I'm just funnin' cause I love everything he posts -- leastwise I'm not afraid of 'em. I think love is real and fear is an illusion -- that's why they are opposites like Tommy says. And I'll allow that after a hard days work, or a boring one, or one in which they got fooled into being afraid that they might seek some kind of entertainment. But then, it's love they are looking for rather than an avoidance of fear.
so guys, when you're out lookin' fer love in bars try going to a magic show instead. Then again, since both love and fear are illusions maybe what people are looking for is reality -- or a real experience anyway.
