Jon, for the record I have never been caught with double back either. It's a great effect, I was only trying to make a point.
If Brent sells this routine to some bumbling, do it tomorrow idiot who can't pull it off, its not Brent's fault and he should not lose money because of that. If from any video demo you don't believe you are skilled enough to pull off the effect, then don't buy it. Brent never said this effect was easy and for every situation. However I personally see lots of applications for this effect that may make me a reputation. Like "working the wait" at my local dining establishment. I would also never build someone else's ideas without paying that person what they are asking, but some people are suggesting just that about this effect. Again nothing said on this board seems to have been insulting to anyone, its only a discusion about ethics, pricing, and magical effects. I don't understand the word FLAME. It implies that we are cussing at each other and not having a civil discussion which I feel we are. I also don't think anyone has every said "if you don't like this effect stop typing in this forum" although some people suggest things such as that. SHANE |

I think Pete Biro had the right idea except I would send the effect to about 10 people. Have them pay postage and let these 10 people give their feedback on the effect . I do not think anyone would steal the idea from Brent if it is already known to the members who's effect it is .
vinny Do not include me in this idea. |

Good thinking Pete, One problem though, it takes an effect 3-6 months once sent in to be reviewed and appear in the magazine.
At the rate these are selling they will be long sold out before the review is ever read. Vinny, almost 10 Café members have already prepaid to get on the list and I am sure once the receive the effect they will give a review. But with only 100 copies being released, giving away 10 seems very unfair to those that saw how powerful this can be and got on the list soon enough. I assure you that after they review this effect the remaining units wont be around long. Just my thoughts, Brent Braun http://www.braunmagic.com |

I have seen the trick in person. In my opinion, its GOOD. Good in person, in real life, and for real people who want to be amazed. I tell him all the time that I can't wait for him to sell me mine... lol
Good one, Brent I like it! later... Chris (What the?!?... Oh I get it... lol) |

From viewing the video, it looked like a really, really poor effect to me. I also didn't think there was anything "magical" about it.
It looked to me like he tried to stick something to a wall with glue that wasn't very sticky. ...but hey that's only my opinion. |

Brent this is very cool! I think I'm going to jump on your list. I would never do this for a magician but why would I, magicians don't pay my bills. I'm very bitter now, this is cooler than my card thru window!LOL

To me it does look magical. The fact that its examinable after is just a slap in the face to those who think its done. How can it use glue if he is able to move the card?

Has anyone received this effect?
Any comments? Has anyone received "Outside In" from Brent? It has started to be shipped or not? I have ordered it from him and I asked him many times if he already shipped it or not but he didn't reply my email... Hengky |

Just finished watching the demo to this trick and I'm not that impressed.
I'm a bit disapointed because I love Bret Braun's Torched and Restored trick but this one I don't care for much. You need a glass door and also it dosn't look pratical to me. Not something I would spend my hard cold cash on. |

I purchased this trick and think it's awesome. Yeah maybe it is a little overpriced, but the look that I get on the peoples faces when the card goes through the glass makes it all worth it. Guccimagic explain why you don't like it.

First, overpriced by far!
second, the distance the spectator has to be in order for this to look good is too great! not applicable on too many venues! third, the end of the trick is not the end of the work |

Wanted to clear a few things up, earlier I stated, "This effect was created for real people who have no idea what is about to happen and the all of the sudden BAM!!! the card is falling thru the glass and landing at their feet."
This statement may have been mildly misleading and that was in no way my intent. This is based on a visual illusion of the card seeming to be outside when it is truely on the inside of the glass. Well in the instructions it states it is best performed with the spectator 6-10 feet away from the door, Altho in subdued lighting (IE: bar or restaurant)they may be closer. I mention this as I have had a Dissapointed purchaser who wanted the card to literaly "land at their feet". He only had one location in mind for performing this effect and there isn't enough room for him to do it. I am making this post because as I say I don't want anyone to buy this effect and feel mislead in anyway that was not my intent I was only quoting what spectators have said to me after seeing the effect. This isn't an effect you will use on everyone all the time this is an effect you use at the right time in the right place when you know you have the right group and you really want to impress them similiar to using the balducci levitation. Hope that clears things up, and if anyone has any questions feel free to email me before you buy. I will be more than happy to try and answer them all. Thanks again for the support, Brent Braun brent@braunmagic.com http://www.braunmagic.com |
