Hi Guys,
I'd like to add a couple of effects using paper money to my walk around act. The only thing is I have only ever done one paper money effect before called Billoon which I love (However it is not ideal for every situation) Therefore I was hoping that you guys could recommend some starting effects along with their sources for me to consider. I am open to everything at this stage as long as the effects can be done with bills of different sizes and colours. Also I am considering a Bill Switch, so any suggestions on the best place to start would be greatly appreciated (I am open to both TT and TTless options) All The Best |

EXTEME BURN 2.0 by Richard Sanders is a MUST if you want an ULTRA visible 1's to 100's in a blink of en eye.
ABOVE TOP SECRETS by John T. Sheets is also a MUST for ULTRA visible bill transpositions in the spectators hands. FRAUD by Daniel Garcia is a fantastic effect that allows you to move a federal printed seal from one side of the bill to the other. SERIAL BILLER by Rich Ferguson is a remarkable Torn and Restored bill that allows the spectator to keep track of the serial numbers of the bill in all phases of the routine (definite winner). The DVD goes over various handlings that can be incorporated into the bill switch as well. 100 DOLLAR MIRACLES by Jay Sankey is an IN-DEPTH lesson to the TT bill switch. He covers practically everything from all angles. 4 QUARTERS by Magik Balay is an extraordinary TT-Less bill switch which is getting rave reviews (recent product). If you want to start getting into PK effects: ENERGY BILL by Andrew Gerard is an amazing IMPROMPTU bill effect where you are able to control the movement of a BORROWED bill with NO gimmicks whatsoever. All of these I mentioned are highly recommended and have served we very well. |

Thanks Toph, you've made some really nice suggestions there.
I was looking into Extreme Burn 2.0, but will probably wait until I have some spare large bills to make up the effect (I'd like to use at least 20's so were talking at least 100 to make up the effect) as I have to pay the Gas, Electric and Phone all this week. Therefore I may start with a single change so I may look into the 100 Dollar Miracles DVD and the 4 Quarters effect at this stage as they both sound very promising. Many Thanks |

Hi
I've been using this for along time! The magician is Danny Archer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-T6Hfmg6ds&feature=related He sells it at his web site. It's not expensive at all and this effect KILLS! You will enjoy practicing this effect because when you get it, you'll have a real miracle in your arsenal! HTH Ralph

If you know the answer, please confirm. |

If you have Richards Almanac, check out these three:
Bob McAllisters Greenwarp, a cardwarp effect using a bill and card. Billtration And Johnny Hirose's Rip-it Revolutionized, you need to use a US bill for this one. David Acer has a bill switch using 3 different currencies, called Around the World in 80 Dollars. It's in his book Natural Selections. On one of the Ammar ETM Money Miracles is one of my favorites, the Self-folding Bill. Stephan Shutzer the creator showedand taught me this about 18 years ago at one of the early World Magic Summits. It's excellent. In 5x5 Japan Ken Kuroki has a really cool bill penetration called Cocktail Bill penetration. I can't remeber what book it's in, but there's another really good bill penetration using a post-it.

My favorite paper money tricks to carry in my wallet are: wonderland dollar (kind of like a hiber wallet but in the form of a dollar bill) and the Paradox dollar (from Tannens) where you form a dollar bill from four pieces on the back side of the bill but if you turn the pieces around, they cannot reform the dollar bill.

I'm a little biased towards Four Quarters, but I want to correct what was said above. It is not a tipless switch, it's a TT switch.
Extreme Burn is fantastic for a multiple bill change, and Lovick's Switch book is incredibly thorough and well-written. Great resource. Kevin

Two Dollar Window from PM is very nice, tip-less easy switch. I convert two singles to a $100. The essence of it is in Switch (Sander's Double Switch, and Chow's Melt change). I think I've seen similar in Tarbell.
The Wonderland effect is also nice. I do it at street fairs with a jumbo $100, starting by asking people if they can handle this much money, or "whats in your wallet", or "can you make change for me?". Then go into my Wonderland type effect. A switch to a mismade is certainly a great effect, this can be done tipped or un-tipped.

This will be an unpopular recommendation to most ppl here at the Café but Jay Noblezada's money Dvd at Penguin magic teaches some very basic but professional looking bill tricks that can be mastered by most in a few weeks or so. Now don't get me wrong I don't think this is where an advanced performer needs to start as many of the already suggested tricks would serve them well, but to the novice just starting out in Money magic especially bills, these tricks will develop the confidence needed to perform more advanced tricks. No matter what you do however, if I could give some advice to my fellow conjurers, please have a reason for doing your magic. If you going to turn a dollar into to a hundred do it in the context of not having enough money to pay a bill at say a restaurant, then do your stuff to be fluid financially for the rest of the night. Just something to think about.
Thanks.
Just cause they say it, doesn't make it true.

Another terrific bill effect is Kartis Visible Bill Change. It is a single white bill sized sheet of paper which becomes a bill- very visual and easy to do. It is manufactured by Tango and comes with a a Dvd and and all the material to do the effect!
