From Practical Magic.....I've noticed this a couple of times in the past, and recently decided to go ahead and buy it. This is a very well-made and durable prop, which will definitely enhance any Magic Painting type of routine. It's also brightly coloured, and nicely finished. I think it's more comical and magical than most of the "Appearing Crayon" boxes, or "Magic Palettes". The paintbrush can change to several different colours, AND "spotty" and "stripey". It's self-working, the one drawback is a slight talking problem when changing colours. This can, of course, easily be overcome by (for instance) having the kids shout the magic word at the appropriate time. Highly recommended. Potty |

I wouldn't say it's self-working, but it's a great prop. The guy on the video dem gets over the 'talking' problem by making a lot of noise during the stirring of the paint. Very clever chap!

Now that I've seen Kimmo's demo. I may get one. This a prop I can work in a really funny routine. The wheels are turning in my head.
I have Supreme's (Golden Galaxy of Roses)that would go well with it. Hey Potty The Pirate---you can call it Potty Painting. Tricky Ricky |

I also have this one.
I enjoy using it. For small children (3, 4, 5 years) it seems to be magical. For older children I think it is more comical then magic. Which is not a problem because it is still fun and can be funny byplay with another (more magical) painting effect. |

Thanks, Esther - that's exactly what I felt when I saw it. The effect is very simple, but good enough to fool the very young ones - but if you "get" what's going on, it's STILL a funny gag, kinda like watching a cartoon.
I'll be using it soon..... ;) |
