Hi Bernard!
Try office supply stores for a wide assortment! Sincerely, Steve P.S. E-mail or private message if you want me to pick some up for you! Are you unable to get these altogether in Singapore? Steve

The Camirand academy sells "Elite" bands. Pretty expensive, but very, very nice.

I feel bad for once again plugging mine/Andy Leviss’ site, A2 Productions (http://www.asquaredproductions.com), but I think this is something you’ll want to hear Bernard.
As well as mentalism, Andy specializes in rubber band magic and has some excellent effects that I’m trying to pursuade him to release. Anyway, we’ve managed to get hold of a small number of bands that are totally perfect for band magic. We won’t be charging stupidly high prices like other dealers (no names mention! ) but will be selling them at a low rate so that you too will be able to perform this genre of magic with ease and perfection! Expect to see them on the site very soon! --Andi _________________ Check out - A2 Productions my all new website - http://www.asquaredproductions.com

I don’t use RUBBER bands, I use PLASTIC bands. I picked these up in an art supply store, and they have the benefit that they don’t perish and they don’t break. Moreover, they come in bright colors.
But, while they don’t break, they do "wear out". Effectively what happens is they fail to come back to their original size (ie, they get a bit overstretched). For me, this is crucial as the big thing that put me off rubber band magic (when it was first in), was that rubber bands perished very quickly and there was never a way of predicting when a band would break. With these plastic bands, they never break. And when they start to wear out, I just toss them away. I can’t guarantee that you’ll be able to find these in your neck of the woods. But they are worth searching for. Bye for now Harold

Michael Ammar has two grades of bands for sale "better" and "best."
http://store.yahoo.com/ammarmagic/index.html I bought the "Best" bands. These are No.16 bands (as opposed to the No.18 and No.19 usually recommended for rb effects). They stretch well and the smaller diameter does suit my hands better. They are a bit thicker than the bands I bought at the office supply store. I like them. One concern I have is the lifespan of the bands. Rubber is organic and breaks down rather rapidly. Balloon twisters know that fresh stock is far superior in terms of stretch and breakage. Some balloon-a-tics keep extra stock in the refrigerator to retard the spoilage. I’m guessing that the same is true of the rubber bands. Given the huge quantity I now have of these elastic wonders, the shelf life may matter. Does any one have experience with this? In good spirit, Jon |

Just like balloons, I find that storing the bands in your refrigerator works...
I usually either put them in the crisper drawer or all the way in the back of the bottom-most shelf, which tend to be two of the colder places in it. That’s where I store the bands that Andi and I will be selling on the site (hopefully we’ll have ’em available shortly after the New Year), much to my roommates’ chagrin :o) _________________ Andy Leviss Check out my new book for mentalists, Ramblings and Revelations (and other products for magicians and mentalists) at: http://www.asquaredproductions.com
