Hi,
I went through many of the past forums looking for an answer, but no luck. I see many of the answers to lighting flash paper (such as a specialty wand) use what they refer to as glow plugs. Would a glow plug from a small gas powered model airplane work? Has anyone tried it? I remember owning a couple of these small planes when I was much younger and it seemed like the plugs took a second or two to glow. If this is true, that is the effect I need . I want to push a button and have a slight pause before the flash. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! veegates |

Glo-plugs (1.5 V or 3 volts) ignite (glow red) instantly. It may take a second or two for the fuel to ignite. If you want to delay the ignition you would have to have an in-line resistor causing the delay or an electronic timer (555 Time Chip).
All in all, a glo-plug will ignite flash paper. The last time that I checked, Mimesis Magic was selling numerous flash pens --- one type is designed for a replaceable glo-plug. |

Hi Perceptions,
Thank you very much for your help! The second or two delay is exactly what I needed. Veegates |
