Saturday was an interesting day. I started in the 19th Century at a Wild West Show.
The weather cooperated. The evening brought me back to the present time. ..and a change in the weather at a different venue. The rain, though soft and warm, had an unexpected result. As I was getting out, I noticed the difficulty of unhooking the buckles. Though I have done this routine since back in my Reno Days, (early 80's) I have never done it in the rain. I am guessing more experienced escape artist, have run into all sorts of things. The hardest was when an inmate tied knots as well as buckling me in at a county jail show..that time almost had me running out of jokes. Be safe in your escapes and your choices in life. Harris

The rain will also make the canvas of your sj become really tight and difficult to work.
At a gig this season I left my sj in the tent I was working in, it rained and although it wasn't coming into the tent the moisture was in the air and my sj became a sponge and soon became VERY damp. I still had to perform it and luckily I've lost a little weight since I bought it a few years back, so that helped. But it was still a job getting the thing off.... Especially by day three when the muscles were tired and sore.

As an aside (related to the weight) about 8 years ago, I had to take my jacket to a leather worker to put on a longer strap for between the legs.
My weight gain made it difficult to get into (not out of ) the jacket. Magically I have lost about 29 pounds since last September. I found 4 of them this summer and trying to make them and more vanish completely.
