I didn't set out to create a gospel message for this trick when I was teaching it to my son. But it always bothered me that you had to pick two blocks to escape. Then I came up with the idea of telling the story of Paul and Silas in Prison. The spectator can pick which blocks will represent Paul and Silas, you give the box a good shake for the earthquake, the spectator/jailer can see them both still in the prison by looking through the holes and then call them out (then you turn over the box).

Wow, that does fit pretty well. Sonds like you had a "V-8" moment! I may find opportunity to use mine that way. Thanks again for sharing.

I love this effect - it sits on my desk and I regularly perform it for people who come to visit or have appointments to meet with me.

I would love to, someday, get my hands on a larger version that would look better from stage. (mine is the smaller version by Magic Makers)

After drinking a V8, you get this refreshed, awake feeling, as if you just woke from a good night's sleep. The effect lasts for about 4 hours. It's sold in most grocery stores.
