Ok here it comes....
1 Minute and 32 seconds left to place my bid... Should I buy it? Hmmmmm.... 30 Seconds left... Ok...Ok..£20 Bid! Congratulations You Won This Item! T.K.O. The Kaylor Option Hurrah!! *Claps self on the back for getting TKO at such a bargain price... 1 Week Later... T.K.O. Arrives in the post... From China! WTF??!!?? Should it look like this? (A cross between a Kufi and a Clowns Pocket) Why is this sharp metal wire sticking out? (good job ive had my tetanus shot) Why is all the threading loose? (does it double up as an ITR? hehe) The seller must be a Great Magician... His account has vanished along with my Cash!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Anyway from now on I will be sticking to legitimate dealers, sure the price may be a little higher, but at least you know what you are getting and supporting the community. So if your thinking of buying something off Ebay that sounds too good to be true... Chances are its a knock off, and a cheaply made one at that!! As for me, I'll be saving up some cash to buy a TKO from a reputable dealer sometime soon... And as for my Chinese TKO... There is an old Chinese saying... But I forgot what it is so I'll just pop it in the bin. :-D |

It's not surprising that it's happened. You can tell the difference between legitimate products and imitation ones by a few ways - packaging, presence of shop name, price.
Usually if it's too good to be true, it is. There are, of course, legitimate dealers, who sell at near-cost prices at eBay, but that's a minority. Many imitation shops also include their shop name in their pictures actually, so just look out for them. Most imitation products also don't follow the original packaging exactly. See if you can find out how the original packaging looks like (i.e. do your research well) before you buy. |

Read the feedback of the seller, that is how I decide if I will buy something or not.
The descriptions always sound great, but the feedback will tell the truth. Mike |

True, but I've seen even sellers with relatively high feedback (> 100, all positive) vanish after a high-value sale. A better way is to check what kind of items they have previously sold. A bit stalkerish maybe ; )

I bought many items off eBay and so far only one seller tried to rip me off. I dealt with it an moved on.

I was taken in by a rogue seller too.
I bought some pills which the seller claimed would make me 'look ripped' in 10 days. After finishing the course I ended up putting on a stone and had red blotchy skin. I asked for a refund but the seller told me that he had delivered what had been promised. I certainly 'looked ripped', ripped off that is. I had to laugh! |

I was drop-shipping it directly from the authorized manufacturer (in the USA). There were several other sellers listing a cheap chinese knock-off of the product for anywhere from 99 cents to around 14.00. The problem is for us legit sellers is that the buysers, once ripped off, think that WE are selling the same crappy product as the pirates. Everybody loses.

You CAN do something about this if we work together. For example there is a seller out of Hong Kong that sells NOTHING but knock-offs of magic and mentalism products, including my own. eBay tells me they will only act if they receive multiple reports against them. Please take the time to see the line up of products and the rediculous prices. You do not have to report a specific item but you can report the actual seller here: http://contact.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?......nl668800
Anyone who wants to help me out specifically can report the counterfeit version of my product by going to the link below and clicking on the "Report Item" link on that page. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View......7wt_1141 Christopher |
