So,
I bought a "Strolling Chop Cup" on Café a few months ago. As I look at the RNTII web site, they're "Strolling Chop Cup" is diffrent than mine... Mine is Copper all around and inside. Came w/ a bag that says Strolling Chop Cup and is an Awesome cup! Being my first "Real" chop cup. It is heavy, and great quality. Mine looks identical to theirs, but not w/ Brass lip/inside. Mine does have the same lip. Theirs has Brass lip and Brass inside... Here: http://www.rnt2.com/index.php?target=pro......id=29868 Does anyone know if they ever made an All copper Strolling Chop Cup? I sent RNTII and e-mail, but you guys are always faster and give awesome insight! |

Jake spun them in all copper, Donnie produces them with brass inside (and mighty fine they look too.)

Mike… Jake was the previous owner and Donnie is the current owner of RNT2. You have a great Chop Cup; I too have one in all copper, aluminum and a chromed version.
Take care, Bruce |

To add to it… The Strolling Chop Cup in copper was released with a mirror polished or satin finish.

Hi Mike,
I was the one who sold you the Strolling Chop Cup. The cup I sold you was purchased from Jake (the original owner of RNT2). It is an all copper cup and does differ from the one currently produced. Personally, I prefer the all-copper look. Cheers, Martin |

Hi guys,
This cup is coming back in all copper in the near future (and I'll get some plated), but it currently only has the super sexy copper shell with the brass lining. Mike, I hope you got my email reply that I sent you yesterday. I explained the same thing you found here. You got a reply within an hour of sending your inquiry. You are the second guy to write me in the past year and ask why the Strolling Chop Cup I have online is different from the cup you bought second-hand. To my knowledge, this cup has never been knocked-off, but don't tell anyone... |

For reasons that I cannot go into here, Mike left the company. Jake took over and expanded the line. Health reasons and other considerations forced Jake to look for a buyer. Donnie Buckley stepped up to the plate and has done a magnificent job. Let me say this: during all of these changes of hands and operating policise, the quality of the product has remained consistently high. Donnie is putting out products that are wonderful.

Yeah Donnie is pretty much a genius. I took my Mendoza combo cups into the shop here awhile back and they all were quite impressed with them, as was Dean Dill when he saw them shortly after they arrived in my mail box. I have to say that working with Donnie and Michael (who makes the wands selling on RnT2) has been the highlight of my experience when it comes to buying magic. Both pay incredible attention to detail, respond quickly to emails, and will certainly give me a hefty discount on my next order due to my posting this message.

Thanks! I couldn't remember who it was. I am still LOVING it! Great feel to it! I also like the all copper look. Donnie: Yes, that was a VERY quick turn-around w/ the e-mail. I appreciate the info! Excellent cup BTW!!! I figured it was an "older" make. Being that I will hang onto this for a while, I wanted to know the "history" I guess. Thank you! Bill: I was 120% sure you would have some insight as well! You rock! Much appreciated. As I expected, excellent insight from everyone. Thanks to all. Mike |

Do people prefer this or the Riser Chop cup. I'm specifically looking for street use. Thanks

Magic1… I can comment on the design owning several versions of the RNT2 Strolling ChopCup. They have a fantastic feel to them very hefty and they are kind of self working due to their weight. Not being a street performer, I can’t comment on how they would hold up in the trenches, however they are spun pretty stout and I imagine could withstand a drop or two and a wand whacking.
I used this style of Cup for quite a while; I have since switched over to the RNT2 Workers Chop Cup… not as hefty but still it feels great. Esthetically the Worker’s Cup looks better to my eye (its shape), especially now that it has turned brown (copper). My presentations are more based on showing old magical curiosities. I have had people say the Strolling Cup looks like something from a bathroom set… especially the chrome version. Good luck in finding a Chop Cup that works for you, Riser and RNT2 each make fantastic Cups. Happy New Year, Bruce |

If you want a set of cups that would hold up on the streets then James Riser has just posted a pic of a set made from .093" gauge copper! Can you say "Men's cups!"

Thank you BCS- and thanks for all of your thoughts. The "Workers" cup does look great. As does the old SBL copper strolling. (both don't seem to be on the site) Do many of you guys find that the 'inner workings' of the RNT chop cup works as well as James Risers? Or do the riser cups beat everything (such a mystique!) or are they both excellent? Kozmo talks about preferring the riser gimmick in the center (actually, he mentions that he doesn't like that it's to one side) but I understand that Mr. Riser can place it in the center if you prefer it. Kozmo's dvd got me thinking in a new way. I used to do a chop cup on the street but the one I own is not right for this routine. I'm looking for a copper chop cup that you can use on the street and it looks like RNT2 and James Riser are the best for this kind of routine. Any other thoughts and preferences
