Just went through my magic stuff looking for an old prop I threw away (never ever throw any magic prop away. No matter how useless, you'll use it someday.)
I found my little gaff quarter set I made. Bitten quarter, bent quarter, and a regular quarter. I am thinking of going to the bank and getting 3 halves and making the same thing with the 3 halves (since I only work with halves.) Think it'd be a good idea or just a waste of time and a $1.50? Chris |

Nothing is a waste of time and money if you are going to use it...

How about punching a hole through a coin too if your gonna have the others in your set.
Take it to a machinist and they could get one made perfectly for cigarettes, pencils, or whatever. |

Chris,
All of the gaffs you describe have a better effect if you start by borrowing the money. In that case, you already have the ideal set of coins. Spend the $1.50 on a copper coin that matches the quarters in size, and you're set to impress on an "impromptu" basis.

Ah...Curtis thanks for the idea.
The thought did cross my mind on carrying them in my wallet. Wasn't to sure about it. I do have a few Sacagewea gold dollars. They are slightly bigger then a quarter. My friend is also in Wales at the moment. He is supposed to be bringing me about 50 two pence coins back. I think they are about the size of the quarter. Thanks for the idea. Chris |

In college, someone saw me do my c/s transpo using a borrowed quarter and later gave me a coin from Russia that works really well.
The Russian 5 Kopek coins are bronze and just a bit larger than quarters. These and British half pennies ... and the old Chinese coins make for some very nice coin sets in quarter size. I still have my c/s coins for quarter size ... and a few quarters with the nickle removed made by Richard Hatch back in 1982. Something about doing magic with MONEY as opposed to 'coins' just resonates with me.
...to all the coins I've dropped here
