First of all I don't know if this question belongs in this section, if so I'm sorry.
Many times I have read on this forum that in the US you can get Bicycle cards at low costs, approx. $17 a dozen. In fact my daughter is at this moment in NY and stays in the neighborhood of Broadway. I like here to bring a dozen of decks home for my son who is the magician in the house. But she can't find anything. Can anybody on the Magic Café help me to get an address in the neighborhood of Broadway where to buy the cards that cheap as $17. Thanks in advance, John P.S.: As English is not my native language, I hope I made my question clear enough for everybody. |

She needs to go to a costco store. Where I'm at they're selling them for $14 a dozen. You can google locations of the nearest costco stores to find the closest address.

I heard from a friend that anecdotal evidence is actually quite reliable. |

Costco is the place, out in California they are about 13 per box.
try here: costco.com for a list of locations in NY. You do have to be a member, although she might be able to shop once, to try it out.

Yes I use Costco but Sam's Club also has them at about the same price.

If you can wait, Costco often has special sales where the cards are $4 off. When that happens I stock up on bricks of them. So for me (outside Washington D.C.) I can get a package of 12 for $9, which works out to $0.75 each.

JohniJ,
I don't believe there are many Cotsco around in midtown Manhattan, the closest is 116th E and 1st avenue, not the best place in Manhattan for a tourist. The easy way is to check prices around the drugstores like Walgreen, CVS, and others, sometimes they have offers for single and double packs. Toys R Us could have some offers as well, the prices will not be as good as a discount store but maybe cheaper than in your country. Pablo |

We're talking standard bicycles? I don't know how you guys can use those. I don't like the thinner stock.

Thanks all for your replies.
I think the best option is Toys R Us. I already thought after a quick look at Google Earth that the Costco at 116th E.... would not be the place to be visited by my daughter on a first time visit to NY. Thanks for the warning pabloinus. |

I would be happy to support your magician son. I will send your daughter a brick of a dozen Bicycle decks if you give me an address to send it to. No charge. Send an e-mail to domartin@aol.com.

David,
Thx for your offer, but she's flying home in two day's. My son has already some bycicle decks, but he's a smart kid and thougt, what the heck my sister is in NY and the decks are much less in costs then here in Holland, I like to have some in advance, so she can try to by me a dozen He has to wait until a next visit, or......... I think I'll have to support him. I really appreciate your offer. |
