I agree Saysold1. I think Blaine and Jay both took the high road, and turned out carefully-planned, and thought out releases. No get-rich-quick products.
While I do give credit to Angel for producing magic kits that are cool looking (ya gotta admit, if you were a kid into magic, you'd gobble up a set of black and silver magic tricks), I still doubt his sincerity considering he is never seen demonstrating the effects he's hocking. He set himself up to be something special (debatable), but now he may be falling into the cliche celebrity magic set business.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

As I posted somewhere else on these cards, Card Snobs Need Not Apply and now I can add the Benighted.
Thanks. There is never a shortage and always in great supply unfortunately. Posted: Nov 24, 2010 6:58pm Craig Petty and David Penn rates it a 90%. |

As I've said I think these David Blaine decks are the cat's meow and consindering the quality (high) and low price... They are a steal.
I just ordered the Sven and stripper decks yesterday. I'm serios when I say that David needs to raise the price on these should be $15-20 minimum for this quality and the material. These could be the new standard for Ga**ed decks.

Really hope you guys are right that I'm overreacting. Uhh, Yea. It's alright, many starting out magicians do (being super self conscious and blah blah blah) and unfortunately makes it a liability unto themselves. |

Just what every serious performer wants -- a deck of cards that advertises ANOTHER performer. Go figure.

The only way these decks of cards would advertise another performer is if you were to say "Hey check out my new cards from David Blaine". These are quality cards with Mark Stutzman's beautiful back design artwork.

Heh, sorry, had to make this observation because you reminded me. The later James Bond movies were silly in general, but the silliest monet I think is in Live and let Die where Jane Seymour is reading her tarot cards and says "A man comes..." If she had flipped OVEr her card she woudl have known WHICH man, because visible on the backs of them is an 007 logo.
These cards of course were produced and sold in secondary marketing. I *will* admit that Jane Seymour herself was probably one of the better bits of misdirection they could have had to take your eyes away from those tell-tale cards

Are these available yet at places like Walmart or ToysrUs?

Unlike the cheesy Chris Angel stuff I ha thus far NOT seen these decks at Walmart, Toys R Us, Walgreens, etc.
But if I do see them in the future I will be happy to buy a few extras - these are great. Seeing them at any of those spots will have zero effect on my opinion that the Blaine decks are five stars all the way.

Bietfriek Special user Bye, bye after 501 Posts |
Last week I've bought the ultimate (str***er) deck from mr.Blaine and I must say I'm impressed!
Nothing to see which is great. I'm from the Netherlands and magic does not have the same status as in the U.S.A. (no screaming people haha) Using David Blaine cards isn't a problem The quality of the cards is excellent The str***er function is (also to my eyes)invisible, which is not the case with my rider back str***er deck. You will get a DB'er, backside printed on the box, a subtle one way design and you can use some cards for a reveal (because of some subtle marks on some court cards) Only problem is availability and price of Split Spades decks in the Netherlands. For the same price of a Split Spades deck in the Netherlands I can buy 2 Split Spades str***er decks in the UK that's why I already ordered 3 decks more..... I give this deck due to the high quality 10/10 It's almost a shame this decks are to be sold as a pitch item. |

Are there others that are easier. I have the Boris Wild one though it's fairly easy, I have to scan up and down. I am not lazy, just need it to be quick with no squinting.
