In my humble opinion, Practical Mental Magic has two of the best peeks I have come across that does not require any finger twiddling and addresses all of the issues of the original poster. I would suggest careful study of the first two chapters of PMM.

That’s a good one, but, unless I am remembering wrong, doesn’t it use two to three moves – depending on how you count them?
