This is an old and crappy place and I can see my breath! The heat is back with the wife....keeps her quiet.

I just bought a new thermal shirt for busking outdoors. It was rather expensive, but it's surprisingly warm. When I first looked at it a asked the salesman "Are you sure this is a thermal shirt?" because it looked so thin and flimsy and I was used to the old, thick and dimpled, style of thermal under-garments.

Overall I give this an 8 out of 10. It would have been 10/10, but it's rather expensive for underwear... (P)S- I now see that REI and "The Sports Authority" sell this line of clothing for significantly cheaper than the online pricing. 20 to 25% cheaper, in fact)

I think the idea of long johns under pants and a sweater over shirts is good enough. We usually get 40 below weather here, and I found that one piece thermals cause overheating when you get inside but have to go out again (like you are at the store, found what you want and are heading home - you better have paid for it though!), this way you can open your jacket and vent, and when you head out again you will be reasonably protected.
Also, one piece tend to ....'ride up', which is nobody's friend.

I hate to say this but until last year I never had a winter coat (I hate it, bulky and long) and I do not own a sweater or regular sweat shirt. It just never got cold enough where I was before. Right now I have on my wool cap, which is fun, two pairs of socks, two pairs of sweats, two shirts, a light jacket, and a heavier jacket, and I have a kitten I just saved from my yorkies shoved in there and a way cool scarf tied the way the NYC chicks do it.

The older you get the more effected you become to extreme weather. Here is a selection of union suits for you to choose from.

Indoors mostly. I've never heard of union suit.

Do you have a "General Store?" They usually have them there. Or K-Mart... um... Maybe someplace where ranchers buy clothes. Like a Big R... Wal-Mart sometimes... I don't know what stores you have so I'm just throwing some possibilities out.

For indoors what you need are some fleece footie pajamas!

Or you could just get the heat going internally with my condiment of choice:

Santa gets his provisions at his local trading post, and a union suit usually runs about two beaver hides each. Of course if you can get to a WalMart you should be able to pick up one of those (as seen on TV) SNUGGIES. Your poor wife should have one too.

We have a lil' store, no skivies though. I was going to go to Walmart this morning but, alas, the weatherman lied and it is snowing right now and the road is closed.

Yeah, but you have to admit those footy pajamas are the bees knees.
