I blame the times. We have to remember that these were the days when many folks still believed that the brains of blacks were smaller than those of whites. It's sad looking back on it, but that's the way it was.

Still more "should"s happening here. Seems some in magic are actively refusing to own their beliefs. IMHO a sad thing.
@Critter, what's with the "whites". Who calls who "white"? Even a moment's inspection reveals that the crackers in the box don't all get along as if everybody was a saltine. * To all: Yes, H.P.Lovercraft was a stuck up guy and his stories show issues of xenophobia and sexism. But so what? That's all about him and not projected onto society or even claimed as virtuous in his works. It's in our best interests to own our own bigotry. It's ours. All that disgust and hate and fear. All ours. First step with a problem is to own it and own up to it. My preference is that if one must have any that they keep it to themselves - and if one can afford to - get help for it. It's not ones most appealing feature.

Methinks some government agencies do have too much time on their hands. Too bad we're paying their salaries.

I would like to see them trying to enforce this. I would like to elaborate a little bit on MagicSantas post. Im from the Ghetto, the use of the N word is part of the language white, black, hispanic etc from the ghetto.
Also how the word is pronounced must be taken into account IMO. When a person says the N work with "er" ending its bad usually meaning to imply ignorance or the obvious skin color. Now if the N word is use with the "ga" ending its to imply my friend, my brother, my boy etc. Like the example in Pool Hall Junkies. Now the use of either N word should never be used in the work place. The work place is not the streets. I should not be punished for using a work that I have been using for most of my life that has been used between friends and those respected just because Im hispanic not african-american. I get what wants to be acomplished but its overboard what they want to do but that just might be me. |

There was a bit in the movie "Crank" where Chev Chelios uses the word in a room full of gangstas because he needed to fight them to get his heart rate up so he wouldn't drop dead. I love that movie.
