I'm embarrassed to confess that I don't know how to do a distant voice and a muffled voice. I can do hundreds of cartoon voices, but these are two effects I can't do.
Where or how can I learn?

That's covered in the Stadelman book, if you haven't gotten the PDF file I created of his book, PM me your email address and I will send it to you.

That sounds great! I'll PM you.
I was also hoping to find some audio samples as far as instruction, because how do you clearly explain to someone how to do a voice if they can't hear it? (That is through text only)

In reading the manuscript, I'm really surprised to learn the various substitutes for the labials. I first learned from a Jimmy Nelson record ("Instant Ventriloquism") when I was a small kid, (He mentions Jimmy in the manuscript) and for all these decades I have used the substitutes he taught.
Now I see there is really a lot of leeway for using different subs for your labials! I'll have to try some of those. (Gottle of Geer!) (And not dottle of deer) Anyway, it will be hard to break decades of habit, I imagine. But maybe some of those will help me get through some tricky spots.
