Greetings fellow magi! I'm not new to magic, but new to the Café. I've been aware of its existence for quite a while, but had to figure out how to get around the 'free email' rule. But all is well now. So a little about me- I'm just about to finish a 4 year tour with the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band as a clarintetist on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It's been a good tour, and I'll be heading back to the mainland this summer for school and to hit the magic scene head-on once my contract is done. I've been able to perform in my off-duty time, but not as much as I'd like. I've been into magic for about 15 years, and have been performing regularly for the past 6. Close-up and parlour/cabaret is my area of interest although I have a secret love for dove magic. Maybe one day. Anywho, glad to finally be here on the Café and looking forward to getting to know some fellow magicians of the world!

Welcome! Not bad "duty" at Pearl. The Café is one HUGE library-loaded with different perspectives and new ideas-and old ideas.
Best of luck!

Nothing is truer than the incomprehensible, because the sum total of our knowledge consists of the fact that we know nothing. Our reality is an illusion. Thus illusion is reality-Punx

Welcome 3M,

It's surprising how often Music and Magic go together.

I like Close-Up and Parlor too but I leave the Music to my partner Tom.

Buzz- I was surprised that it took this long for someone to use that joke, but still funny nonetheless. The nickname comes from my work, and hobbies- Marine + Musician + Magician= 3M. Someone I work with "coined" it a few years ago and it just stuck.

Cheers!

Welcome!

Maybe you could produce a clarinet from a marine duffle bag one day...

Welcome 3M,

Playing the clarinet is like reeding someone's mind?
