Hello there. I'm Beth/Pickles the Clown and have been donning a red nose and doing comedy magic for 10 years. I'm looking forward to making new pals in the field, sharing some laughs and getting inspired.

Welcome clowneybeth,
A gal walks into the Dr.'s office with a rat on her head. The Dr. says "What's going on here?" The Rat says" I don't know. It started out as a little bump, next thing you know..." Pa Rump Bump. I look forward to getting to know you. -Mary Mowder |

Illusion and magic is the same, if it was possible to achieve the impossible by genuine powers then it wouldn’t be impossible and therefore it wouldn’t be magic. That’s why magic is an art; the art of creating the illusion of the impossible.

Hey clownybeth, is that a rat or a mouse or a hat?
mightydog, You must be very young. It's a very old joke (and not mine). The original joke was a duck instead of a rat and "it started out as a little bump on my a*s, next thing you know..." I wouldn't have bothered to tell you except that when you tell it it will go over better as originally told. I can't give you a source. Clownybeth's picture just looked like a set-up. -Mary Mowder |

I'm happy to have helped you out with that one, Mary. Yes, that IS a rat on my head. It's Charlotte. Or maybe it's Lucy. Hmmm. Not sure which one. Anyway, it's one of my daughter's pet rats, rescued from a university psyc lab death row. Cute, isn't she?

Yes, she is cute.
Is she contagious? Does she glow in the dark? Is she planning to take over the world? -Mary |

Greetings fellow Wisconsinite! And welcome to the Café. I've not had much experience in the comedy field, but I'll offer any advice on other topics such as I can.

Hey Mary
I suppose if you consider 57 as very young. rofl. I remember the duck joke now. Just haven't heard it in a while. And props to clownybeth for rescuing a animal from being experimented on and ending on death row when their usefulness is over. I salute you. mightydog David

Yep, Captain, Wisconsin folk seem to be everywhere -- not sure why that is, although I admittedly am polishing my cheesehead hat.

LOL. Years ago, my son had a pet rat, rescued from middle school lab. Me: "So what does it eat." Teacher: "Anything, it's a rat."
Two years and a marriage later, the rat was dead. Our blended family still talks about the great rat funeral that evening, which included my son and his younger step sister, petting the corpse to say goodbye and ending with my wife saying "OK, now let's everyone wash our hands with soap." Just had to add that one. Welcome, Beth, from another newbie. |
