"It Isn’t Insider Trading When Your Senator Does It:
Your senator learns that a much- maligned weapons system now has enough votes for funding. Before the news gets to a reporter, he buys shares in the arms manufacturer for a quick, handsome profit. What’s wrong with this picture? Nothing, according to the law. Nor would it be illegal for him to tip someone else, say, his largest campaign contributor." They name names here (non-partisan examples from both sides of the aisle): http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-10-14......ner.html

As long as the dried up old prune face Harry Reid is still in congress don't expect any changes in that either. In Nevada we have to suffer with him again since he was reelected. I do have to say tho that Nevada deserves him if the state is going to be that stupid time after time to keep him working. He hasn't done much to help Nevada in the past 20 years however. Shows the mentality of a good many here. Yes I was born here I do vote so I have every right to complain about him or any other elected official I see fit to complain about.

So what?
There are rules for farmers and other rules for the sheep. :)
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

The only case I see listed in the article that is outright wrong (rather than innuendo) concerns the leak of inside information from Bill Frist's office. You'd think if it was such a widespread problem, the article could have found more examples. People investing in stocks are naturally inclined to trade those in sectors they know about. It doesn't mean they are necessarily trading on inside information. Of course, I see nothing wrong with the proposed "Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge bill" idea. It can't hurt.

Believe me balducci, if there weren't lots of money being made, it wouldn't still be legal. I doubt that you can wall off your mind so that one part can say it is not going to use information that it knows to another part. Congresspeople and their staffs should not be allowed to trade in any sphere where they have access to insider information.

Identifying the right problems. Just gotta be careful with the "solutions."

The only viable solution for Nevada anyway would have to been oust Harry Reid this past Nov. Oh well at least he is older than most dirt in peoples yards so hopefully won't be long. I know that's off topic. Not correct etc.... But oh well.

I don't think she was the greatest either. But Idk Reid really needed and still needs to be put to pasture. It is a fact he's useless. Even people in his religion are tired of him and don't feel that he even reflects their beliefs well. That was reported many times during this last campaign. I'm not just going by the reports either.
Sadly a lot of Nevadan's are that smart. Look at our school system here. No wonder they voted Harry in for another term. I should stick up for the State that I live in. But I'm not going to when I do see so many non educated people here. |

Obviously from my not proof reading the above post well enough the stupidity has rubbed off on me somewhat.

The other Senator from Nevada seems to be all over the place visiting companies and hospitals....never once heard Harry doing anything and his office is right there in Carson.
