Does anyone know of any good, cheap magic stores online that offer free shipping on all orders?

That depends on where you live and where the magic shop is located.
Although I don't believe that any magic shop offers free shipping.
http://www.themagicwarehouse.com is the shop I prefer.. Its prices are very reasonable.

http://www.mjmmagic.com/store/ has free shipping on orders of $40 or more and they offer free gifts if you spend certain amounts.

Nobody's giving away shipping but these guys are close.

In terms of reliable store I think MJM is probably one of your best values.

MadHatter is probably the cheapest, but they sell a LOT of knock offs and other goods of dubious quality and origin.

The other thing you should do is get on EVERYONEs email list and watch for good sales! MJM, Alakazam, heck even Hank Lee sometimes has worthwhile sales.

By the way....

The cheapest cost per trick source of magic is your local library.

The next cheapest are bookstores Smile

Keep building worthwhile posts at The Magic Café, and you'll be granted access to the "Let's Make a Deal" area. I've found some of the best deals in town right here.

As in most everthing... you get what you pay for !!! Quality is not 'cheap'... but it lasts...and thus the actual price is less.

this is very true - get just one book there - one of the RIGHT books... Mark Wilson, Tarbel, some of the classics - and you will have enough magic to perform a killer show the rest of your life.

If you do buy from dealers - buy books or DVDs that teach more than one single trick. Do not fall into the "trick of the week" mindset. You will lose focus and only make us dealers have fatter wallets.

Before you buy anything - hit the library. Watch the videos folks post here. Read the discussions here. Interact. You don't need to spend a lot of money on magic to become great.

One more thing - make your first purchase a membership in your local magic club.

Is there a listing for local magic clubs? - I always feel so intimated going into our local magic shop - But you are right I have to start interacting - there is only so much you can learn off a DVD or book.
Thanks for taking the time to teach us newbees..

This is one hobby you really can not do alone! and off the top of my head, one that gives back to people at the same time.
If you live nearby a magic store, find out if they book lectures. Once you go to your first magic lecture while as a rookie, life will never be the same!

Please check the National IBM and SAM websites for Assemblies and Rings close to you. Try a google search for any local clubs that are not affiliated with the two big ones.

It is true that it is better when you have peers to help critique your magic just take everything with a grain of salt and an open ear.

Getting involved locally is great. My local store does not sell books, so I have to go online to find those. I buy from eBay, Amazon.com (used sellers), and my favorite online [magic] dealer is trickshopmagic.com (free shipping on orders over $50). Of course, all of the suggestions above are great as well.
