Just a short story of perseverance and personnel change. There is a national chain restaurant near my home that I've been approaching for two or so years regarding table-side magic. The result was....no success. Every time the management would change, I would try again. The restaurant has the manager's name on a plaque attached to the building right by the entrance, so periodically, about every six months or so I would drive by to check the name on the plaque......OK.. New Manager...
I always send a letter introducing myself with other info,( I won't go into detail )and a follow up phone call about a week later.. So that's what I did. Well this time we set up a time to meet. The conversation went very well and I gave them a trial performance last Sunday so they could test the reactions from their customers. Today I met with the GM as well as the regional Mgr. and will be performing every Sunday.......The reason I mention this is to not give up. I've been performing in restaurants steady for the last eight years and lost one after being there for nearly seven years. I wanted this one since it was so close to my home and I knew it was a good fit.... so although the economy stinks, there is work out there. If you are interested, here is another link to a struggle I had in obtaining another restaurant. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&forum=5 Just wanted to share my experience to those on the hunt. Hope it helps. David Paul

Congratulations David! It's easy to give up when they say no, but you hung in there, over the long haul, and it paid off. Knock 'em dead, and keep up the great work!

Attributed to Albert Einstein, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. You may have proven him wrong.
Congrats!
