Once in a while I go to Lybrary.com to look for new or old material.
Lybrary is a great resource for old books made digital and is also offering new material. I've bought a lot over there but yesterday I've bought John Racherbaumer's ''Muscle Moves''. This is a great ebook! The book has 165 pages full of moves and sleights described by John Racherbaumer. It reads easily and everything is well described. If needed there are several photo's which make it even clearer. What does this cost? $ 15,00 and it's worth it. I'm always interested in moves and subtleties to perfect the many sleights or learn new ones. One DL isn't enough for me...i want more and I will tell you why.. This are convincers, by using different methods you can fool your audience pretty bad The book contains work and subtleties from Mr. Racherbaumer but also describes moves from Ed Marlo! The sleights described are these; * Adding To Vernon (Jon Racherbaumer) * The Altman Trap (Art Altman) * Audacity Bluff Pass (Frank Thompson, Edward Marlo) * Benzais Cop (Diaconis, Benzais, Marlo) * Bilis Switch (Bernard Bilis) * Bottom Out (Edward Marlo) * Bottop Change (Hofzinser, Marlo, Dingle) * Break-less Mechanical Reverse Finesse (Paul Cummins) * Burn-Surviving Switchout (Edward Marlo) * Cascade Control (Charlie Miller) * Clip Steal (Edward Marlo) * Copdiddle Count (Jon Racherbaumer) * Cover-Up Cut (Edward Marlo) * Delayed Bottom Placement (Jon Racherbaumer) * Drop-Delay Force (Jon Racherbaumer) * Filigree Double (Jon Racherbaumer) * Finessed Collectors Count (Hideo Kato, Jon Racherbaumer) * Finessed Throw Change (Derek Dingle) * Focussed Misdirection Palm (Edward Marlo) * For The Unambitious (Edward Marlo) * Greased Bottom Deal (Edward Marlo) * Haymowie-Wowie Force (Jon Racherbaumer) * Hofzinser Drop-Cut Force (Johann Nepomuk Hofzinser) * Illogical Spread Switch (Jon Racherbaumer) * Impeccable Double (Howie Schwarzman) * In-A-Jiffy Duplex Double (Edward Marlo) * Jog-Podge Control (Jon Racherbaumer) * Laid-Back Bottom Palm (Cliff Green) * Locked-In Push-In Change (Edward Marlo) * Longitudinal Side-Steal (Edward Marlo, Jon Racherbaumer) * Mahatma Control (Jon Racherbaumer) * Malone Change (Bill Malone) * Marlo-Curry Turnover (Edward Marlo, Paul Curry) * Mechanical-Second Palm Steal (Edward Marlo) * Mexican Flipover (Edward Marlo) * Nullifactor (Stewart James) * Oops False Cut (Marlo, Forte) * Optical Add (Edward Marlo) * Preparing To Twist (Jon Racherbaumer) * Pressure Spread (Paul Le Paul) * Quick Clip Cop (Jon Racherbaumer) * Roman Shuffle (Edward Marlo) * Rub-A-Dub Deluxe (Glenn Morphew, Jason England) * Scoop Addition (Edward Marlo) * Skid Double (Edward Marlo) * Slip-less Clip Force (Jon Racherbaumer) * Spread Drop Switch (Tony Kardyro, Edward Marlo) * Stealth Palm (Jon Racherbaumer) * Tip Top Palm (Jon Racherbaumer) * Visible Victor Change (Edward Marlo) * Whirl Flourish (Jon Racherbaumer) * Wink Change (Martin Gardner) The forcing methods are great and very easy to do/understand. I especially like the focussed misdirection palm from Ed Marlo and the added subtlety. I was using the same method without the added subtlety and it really fools the spectator. The switches and controls are convincing and imo gems. The price really is a (side)steal! Chriss Washuber (owner of Lybrary) mentions the following (I quote) If you are already familiar with the basics of card magic then you will find here a lot of advanced moves and concepts to significantly improve your magic. If you are an experienced veteran of card magic you will probably still find some moves you are unfamiliar with. It is also a great reference ebook to have in case you run one day into any of these moves. (end quote) Everything is true! I recommend this ebook to every serious cardmagician. I'm in no way affiliated with Mr.Racherbaumer and/or Lybrary. I'm just a guy from 31 who has an (un)healthy interest in magic and I really like this ebook. |
