Hi All,
I have an idea for a trick that is aimed specifically for blind people. I do not know of any that do not call for instant stooging. My question is this: Is it worth marketing an item aimed at being performed for the blind? It can be produced so as to be done for sighted people as well. While I am sure you will not come across a blind person very often, to have something on you just for them when the opportunity presents itself would give you an enormous amount of kudos. The item would not cost much, maybe $20 at the very most. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Jon

At the risk of sounding rude, which is not my intention. Is it a great trick for the sighted? Or an ok trick for the sighted. I say that as I'd be far more likely to buy if it was likely to be performed more regularly. That said, I Love the idea of it. I can think of at least 3 occasions fairly recently where I have performed at a function with a blind person there and many more where an elderly person has very very bad eyesight, meaning they have essentially been excluded. Being able to do something for those people would be very nice.

I've used one I got off the Convention At The Capital 2000 DVD ( by A-1 Magical Media ).

Paul, it's a prediction effect so the prediction can be made in different ways. The sighted people can be mightily impressed by the revelation and can even be part of it. There are a few ways to play it.
Dr Magic, I know of Whit Haydn's routine and have performed it on a couple of occasions with varying degrees of 'help'. The difference is that the blind person is in on the effect so the trick is really for the sighted people and not for the blind person. There is a difference between getting them involved and doing a magic effect for them.

I think it is a great idea, Jon.
And you could do it with regular sighted folks by just blindfolding them. Go with it, I say.

Sorry for being slightly vague but I'm sure you understand.
It isn't a case of doing it for people who can't see. As an example, you can't blindfold a sighted person and give them a book printed in braille. This item will be produced so it can be done for sighted people but the real value is in doing it for blind people.

I was not aware of the second performance of Whit's routine where the blind person is not in on it. Some checking up is needed from this side...
