I used to do balloon animals alot. However, I would rather stick to just Magic. However, recently, if a customer wants longer entertainment or asks me if I do them, I say yes. I tell them there is an extra charge.

I used to offer any combination of a magic & puppet show (kids only), close-up magic (mainly for kids), balloon twisting, caricature drawing, game leading, and occasionally I offered face painting! I stopped doing balloons almost 2 years ago because it was hurting my hands and I got tired of it anyway for various reasons. I never really liked doing face painting and it was too much trouble to combine that with other stuff at the same gig, it was messy, etc. And I stopped offering game leading cause I was doing outdoor stuff like parachute games and the heat and physical activity would wear me out too quickly when I had to do ther shows after that, etc.
So now I just do shows, close-up, and caricatures. Adding extra stuff has advantages and disadvantages, and you won't know for sure whether it works for you unless you try it. I like doing a variety of stuff, it keeps things more interesting and reduces burnout from just doing 1 thing. From a financial standpoint, doing a variety of stuff may increase your income to one extent or another, but if you fill up your schedule with enough magic gigs anyway, then your income might stay the same or even be lower by offering more stuff. If you are a kids entertiner, offering more stuff does give people a reason to hire you instead of someone else, it makes you more unique. Also, it gives you some options to switch things around at the gig as needed if the client is OK with that. On the other hand, offering more stuff does complicate scheduling gigs, complicates doing gigs, more is involved making sure you have everything you need, you will have extra expenses (such as buying balloons), and more time is involved in explaining what you do (and the fees) to clients, and complicates your website and marketing, etc. So, I suggest trying it if it sounds like a fun thing to try, if you want to offer more stuff just to keep things interesting for yourself, or if you feel the need to give yourself a competitive advantage and fill out your schedule.
