Hey, I am trying to price a set of 1970's "Bells of St. Marys" Cups by the original Rings N Things. They look and sound fantastic. They are Chromed Steel, unfinished on inside. I do not know what they are worth. Would someone please direct me or help me in finding a value on them.
Thanks Arthur |

From an avid collector: The value of anything can only be determined by what people are willing to pay at a given time. The only way you will really know is to put them up for auction and find out. I once watched Bill Palmer chase a vintage micro chop cup set (3) in sterling silver to approximately $1500.00!

The problem is, there aren't enough of these particular cups floating around, being sold, to make an educated guess as to how much they might go for. On eBay, all it takes are 2 people who REALLY want something to make a price skyrocket!
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Arthur :
Try sending a PM to Bill Palmer. If you do decide to put them up on the big auction site, you can always insulate yourself against a low price by setting a reserve price based on informed estimates of what they should be worth at the high end of the scale. Of all the cups with the Monti-design, the Bells of St. Mary's have always been my favourite. Fortasse |

I'm sure Bill will chime in here at some point...he has his PM function turned off.

In today's market -- $200-$250Â -- more if you have the bag and the balls.

Interesting......just checked and saw that I paid $200 for mine when I bought them from Ron Allesi just a little over four years ago.

That was a good price. They are not uncommon. They are very good cups.
When they were originally sold, there was no indication on the instructions that they were called the Bells of St. Mary's. They were just called chrome plated steel Monti cups.
