Ok... So I decided to go with a fake drink instead of a real one in one of my acts.
Now being a prop builder myself, I could build one pretty easy. But I was searching online and found this site. http://www.fakefoodonline.com The stuff they have on the site look really good, and have great prices. I found a rum and coke that I liked on there and it was $13. It would cost more than that for me to just go buy the material to make it. In that case, I might as well let them make it. So I ordered one. Well, it does say it will take it awhile to be made and shipped. But after 3 weeks, I contacted them asking a status. They replied that it will be sent out that friday and they will send me the tracking number. Come that friday, I never received any email. A week later, no tracking, no package. So contacted them again, a week later... no return. So now I contact them again with a little more stern message. I wasn't rude, but I laid it on the line. They emailed me back and said it will ship soon and they will give me a free surprise. A day or two later I got an email from a "click and ship" service. Several days later the tracking doesn't even show that a package has been picked up. But in the end, several more days and the product finally arrives. So now the rum and coke... Did it look like a real drink? Umm... yes it did. Did it look like a rum and coke? Not at all. Could I have done better? oh yeah. First, I can smell it and tell they used fiber glass resin. Geez, I have some resin. I thought they would have used the plastic that is made to look like a liquid. But what I got was a glass, with some resin ice cubes, and some way under tinted brown resin poured in, with a straw. I am not impressed. They sent me a fake shot of something with a lime wedge on it as my surprise. How does it look? Boring. It's a shot glass with clear plastic poured in. It doesn't look like resin, but it's also almost invisible. It looks like an empty shot glass. It has silver glitter around the top that is supposed to be salt. It doesn't look like salt at all. White sand from the hobby store would have looked better. But the lime wedge did look good. Out of everything, the lime looked the most real. So in conclusion... I am going to use it in my act, for now at least. They have good prices, but you pay for it other ways. The customer care is horrible and the quality is not what the picture shows. Randi |

Ok... it was $15, not $13
http://www.fakefoodonline.com/catalog/it......2838.htm Mine has the same style glass, but my drink is way too orange not brown like that one looks like. Here is the extra product they sent me. http://www.fakefoodonline.com/catalog/it......1134.htm Yeah... it did not look like that. The salt was glitter and the liquid was clear and invisible. Randi |

Wow Randi...thanks for the review, and sorry to hear that. It would appear that the rum and coke has disappeared from the planet (clicked on the first link, and the message came up that this product no longer exists).

This stuff looks great if you have a use for it.
