In North America, Bike is the common brand name for playing card. I'm just wondering what is the common brand name in France / Europe?
My friend will be travelling to Paris for a trip and he is nice enought to pick up some playing cards for me. Could someone point me to the right direction on what he should get for me? Thx!! |

Fournier (Spain) & Waddington (U.K.) are two that I know of...

Dom: Thanks for the input, I'll pass on the names to my friend.
JRediens: Thanks too. However, Phoenix deck is a "magician" deck, that's not what I'm after. I'm after the desk that layman buy. (Also, I can get Phoneix deck easily here, so no need to buy it in France). |

Hi there I am from the UK now living in New Zealand. Any way Waddington is a card made in the UK. There not the best cards for using for magic. They have got better over the years but still not quite there.
Sligthly of subject but one thing you migth want to do if your friend is going to London. Is look at the Davernports magic shop web page and wee if he ppick you up anything you need. They have some exclusive stuff and hard to find bits. You migth be able to get all waht you need were you are but just a tougth. http://www.davenportsmagic.co.uk/index.html
Enjoy your magic,
and let others enjoy it as well! |
