This of you who appreciate a good yarn, that ticks so many bizarre boxes, may well enjoy this gem that's become a sensation. It's a trailer for a ...computer game.
But honestly? I had to wipe away a tear - definitely one for the dads! So my dark brethren, please, watch, dissect and discuss! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZqrG1bdG......a_player

There is a story that Ernest Hemingway made a bet that he could write a short story in under 10 words.
On a bar napkin he wrote: For sale. Baby shoes. Never worn. He won the bet. Short can be just as strong as elaborate. |

Nice. Both posts. Then again, I am a Hemingway fan. One of my favorite quotes by him:
Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut. |

Owen - I love that; actually there was a vogue for Old Peculiar beer to have a one sentence story on the label; Paul, like Jim, I also love that quote. Hemmingway is a bit of a mystery to me, having never studied him - obviously I should.
Maybe we should start a thread on ten word stories, and try our hand?? Steve

Well, Chris summed up Hemingway pretty accurately.

I agree Pakar. I particularly like the scene towards the end where the father is rescuing the girl, but in fact it looks as if she is slipping away - which in reality she is, because she is already doomed following the bite! Very clever shift in meaning because of the timeline of the piece. It was touches like that which elevated what is a simple trailer into art.

Hemingway haiku? It could be the next big thing! (and sorry about the spelling - could go into the whole Python thing - Edmund Wells etc...)
