It's definately not anit-climactic. In fact, if done on an offbeat when the bands move towards eachother it looks just as magical as the coming apart. I do tons of band magic and this is one i always do, saying maybe it was too fast we'll do it again and boom they're back together, do CMH again, put it on their hands do CMH again (even stronger now), then Broken and Restored Band, then i do the 2 Bands slowly melting into one examinable band, then the spaghetti up the nose bit. If you're going to ask where I put this routine together, it's random tricks that I liked from the Dan Harlan Rubberband series from L+L publishing.

MagicMan1957,
As an opener to CMH the move flows nicely. I'll start with this move to link the bands together and then have them separate. Jon Allen shows a nice sequence on his video Spectator's Don't Exist. The reverse CMH move is only anticlimatic if the routine is ended with the bands linking. It leaves the spectator asking...What's next?

For all who would like to know, the reverse penetration
of the two bands is credited by Dan Harlan on his videos to my friend Mark Fitzgerald first published in Apocalypse. Not sure of the exact issue. Jeff Pierce

Mark, no I don't but the next time I see him I will ask. If you have Harlans tapes he credits him there.

Actually, the reverse linking goes back further than Dan Harlan. I originally learned it from Slydini's Linking Rubberband Mystery. Excellent purchase, IF you can find a copy...

Sean,
Ijust said Harlan credited Mark, not that he was the first. Twistace, I think you are correct on the title Back-2-gether. Jeff

The reverse move you talk about is made to look effortless - and quite magical by Dan Harlan Vol 1. I only do this every now and then as I cant quite get it to look smooth everytime.
I have smallish hands so I find this move awkward. By the time I do CHM in the specs hand they are usually completely blown away anyway. |

They also have a disappearing rubberband on that volume to go along with Back Together. Get the dvd and learn it.

Yes, work it as an opening. Think of it this way...if you can take them apart magically, why do you have to put them together manually. I don't know if lay people pick up on this, but I generally do it as an opening.
