Is that a Reece's Peanut butter cup?
HooDoo will look cool in in a Hobbs Box. |

Thank guys! Personally, Hoodoo is not my bag. I was asked by a couple of members if I could make a Hoodoo doll using my rolling TK technology....so I made this prototype. I was 'somewhat' pleased with the result...although Steve....it does sort of look like it is falling out of bed.
No Rick it is not a 'Reece's Piece' lol...it is actually a section of aged tree branch. Rich |

Hi Rich.
My falling out of bed comment was in no way intended negatively. just a joke at Luca's expense. Steve |

It's very cool looking. I think it would be better without the Marge Simpson pearls. Just my opinion.

There's one thing that I've always wanted to see with a "commercial" release of a doll like this: packaging with a duplicate.
The obvious reason is NOT why I would want a second, most-likely ungaffed, doll as don't switch props in my current routine. In my handling of a Fukai doll, the spectator actually holds the doll for a brief amount of time and I've never had a problem. Instead, I like to perform "voodoo" routines as "safe" for the audience member, so I use other things as focus items and test subjects, or even "water down" the potential for danger. For example, in a prediction routine, I use a bulldog clip for the marking of the target area on the doll instead of a pin. That way, if anything "goes awry" with the poppet, the most an unintentional victim would feel is a pinch of discomfort instead of the feeling of being stabbed or worse. This makes it a little easier for me to get an audience member to actually handle a poppet when the routine calls for audience involvement. In this particular case, I could see a "sympathetic doll" being used as a test subject so that what happens to one doll on one side of the room results in action on the other side. Just my two cents. I think that the idea of a doll that moves of its own accord but not in the hands of anybody is a great idea and a significant departure from other routines and M.O.'s. I look forward to seeing this go beyond the R&D phases! Chris |

Chris: Thank-you for your VERY valuable [to me] comments. Hoodoo/Voodoo is not in my realm, so I appreciate your input.
As stated ...this is only a prototype. The original 'altar' I used was just a section of branch I had on hand. The details cannot be seen in the photo. I will probably be using a taller piece with heavier bark etc. I posted this here at Spooky so I could get some constructive feedback. Thanks for the comments. Godzilla, I will keep your suggestions in mind for something more 'Salem' like. Happy trails. Rich |

I really like the idea of a more 'Blair Witch' look. That would like great when performed by candlelight.

Here's some constructive feedback. I think balancing it on a mini Snickers bar would look more realistic .
I'm with Handa Rich. I love little creepy voodoo doll stuff, keep goin with it! |
