Well thanks for the plug, Ros. I have to say, any kind of plating WILL flake off of any type of hardware-store purchased nails. See, chrome plate only sticks to copper, which means you either need a solid copper nail or an ELECTROPLATE copper surfaced on a NON-galvanized nail. Solid copper is too soft for a nail, so they don't exist. Electroplating and chrome plating just one skimpy nail is so low end that most firms that do this process won't even touch it.
My surgical steel nails are made of 316L ASTM 138x stainless steel. Each piece is hand made to custom specifications, heat treated, hand finished and passivated. They are the HIGHEST quality of anything you will ever stick in your body. Some of these terms and desginations may seem like technical jargon, so I'll break it down into carny speak = It's the same material they make pacemaker casings from, which means they are IMPLANT grade. It also means they are completey NON-magnetic. The letter "L" desginates that it is of LOW carbon content, keeping the surface layer or chromium oxides intact even when submersed in chlorine and Reyer's solution (that means it will NEVER rust). If you bleed with blockhead you are doing something WRONG!! That means you should STOP and get an accomplished MENTOR!! Anyone desiring a "perfect" nail, feel free to PM or e-mail me at Nippulini AT aol dot com.

Smaller diameter nails work just fine. I went to your site and I must say I am impressed. I would like to see your human toolbox routine. My God man, a power drill? Very nice! |
