Does anyone know if it's allowed -- or has anyone tried -- to carry Axel Hecklau's Spoonaround on an airplane in carry-on luggage (domestic U.S. flight)?

Since part of it is a fork, I would guess not. TSA is really cracking down on stupidity nowadays and I would say it's not worth the risk.

Yeah, I wondered about that but I was trying not to apply logic. I recall being on a (post-9/11) flight where they gave out a normal steel fork and a plastic butter knife. My wife and I looked at each other in total disbelief. (You'd think a pointy fork would be more dangerous than a butter knife, of any material.) Forks are not specifically banned on TSA's website, which also seems to indicate an exclusion allowing butter knives now:
