I was just curious to find out from anyone that uses the TKO: How easy is it to retrieve items from the TKO if needed? I have long used many different standard and traditional topits, and have really been looking into getting this system because of various reasons. Its workings are ingenious in a lot of ways.
Moaderators: I posted on this section because of the technical aspect in using sleight of hand. If it needs to be moved, please feel free. Any and all input/comments are welcome. Thanks! |

I tried sincerely to use this for about a month and found it less deceptive than a normal topit. It's mostly good for cleaning up (ditching a copper silver gimmick, for example). The TKO requires a sort of "get ready" followed by a rather large hand movement follow-through. While a topiting move is tradionally done on the up-swing, this requires more of an across-the-body movement which I found difficult to justify as far as my blocking was concerned.

Doug, I really appreciate input from a person like you!
The first time I ever saw TKO being used I knew what had to be happening because of the body actions. My idea/want for using it was more along the lines of cleaning up, but I have always had the same two concerns as you mentioned: the big swing of the hand, and the cross-body action would also be hard for me to justify. I played around with Suspended Dimension some years back from Sylvester the Jester and the system was quite good, but it ultimately did not work for me, also because of certain movements required to use it. Unless I am performing mime, I never wear suspenders. Thanks for the input Doug! |

If your shirttails are out or if you are wearing a t-shirt, items can be retrieved openly, as if from the pocket.
TKO is very well constructed and definitely good for clean-up. I often wear it in addition to my topits.
