Which is better for doing levitations on the street, the Spider Pen, or the Thread Boss ITR?

I prefer straight thread, as reels are mechanical and have moving parts ... moving parts are not dependable in the long run.
But if I was going to use a reel ... I would prefer the original Sorcery Shop ITR .. the "micro" reels have too much tension and you can't get any real distance away from the object. I just don't like them very much. They don't have the right "action", to use the term associated with a good guitar. -JoeJoe

Okay thanks for your input!
Could either of those things even be used in street magic, or do they need anchors? |

Lots of anchors on the streets. Buildings, lamp posts, trash cans, signs, parked cars, telephone poles, I could go on and on and on .... that's why I prefer the original reel, because there is less tension so you can be further away from the anchor. You could walk eight feet away.

JoeJoe, what original reel are you talking about?

You might want to consider the Tarantula, it's more suited for "street magic"

Okay, thanks, I'll probably go with that. But if you had to pick one, would it be the spider pen or the thread boss itr?

If you want to pick between those two, I'd go with the Spider Pen. Why? Because once you break the thread on the Boss, you're done for the day. Maybe for the week. They can be hard to fix. If you're really set on a reel, get an Alpha reel.
The Spider Pen is a neat gimmick, but the thread breaks pretty easily. You can reset it fairly easy when you get a chance, but the pen itself and the refills get pretty costly. I spent a small fortune on spider thread before I bought my Alpha reel. Jim |

I prefer Genuine Loops by Yigal Mesika . . . Of course you are limited in what you can do with it, as opposed to some other IT gimmicks, but I love its portability!

Wooly nylon thread and bees wax. That's what I use, dark blue:)
