Michael,
This has been on my mind a lot lately. I think a problem a lot of amateurs like myself run into is trying to take all the material we have and not setting solid goals to learn it. Personally, I am trying to get in that frame of mind were I will have something that I will get accomplished in a day or in a week. I was curious as to how you have approached this? Could you maybe tell us a little of the thought process when you are setting goals for yourself to meet? Thanks again for sharing your time with us this week. We all appreciate it. |

My goals consist of making sure I do a routine well, smooth, and slow. It is so hard to concentrate on making the routine go slow enough, so that the moves aren't rushed. That eliminates the slight hesitation that can telegraph a move. If I come up with a technique, then I set a goal to find all possible uses for that technique, even if it takes me a while. But I know if I play with it enough, new stuff will come. There is always something new you can do if you apply yourself hard enough!
